@TheDKQ :) I was thinking about getting DxTory because it splits out my commentary from the game audio and apparently is less taxing on the CPU than Fraps.
I liked it, I am excited to see some more live commentaries, especially if it is like color commentary. You have some funny stuff there. It is unfortunate people are so easily offended and leave because of comments like bush wookie. I use a much worse term for them. Keep up the good work I am looking forward to more. Most guys only post vids where they are the star of the show. I knew I couldn't be the only one who gets stuck on teams that won't advance for anything, and I personally do not have the skill to carry the team myself. Good video, looking forward to more.

Hmm, do you know who xcalizorz is? If you do try learning from his live commentaries, hes really active and always has a subject to talk about. See how he acts and what he says and learn from him. According to me he is a very good live commentator, whereas almost all of his videos are live coms! I really suggest you check him and his videos out :)
@papemario The difference between Xcal and I is that he can beast in the game without even looking at the screen. His game skill is so high he doesn't need to think about what he's doing. And I agree, his videos are great.

I agree, you don't have to be a recon class or sniper to be a bushwookie. I've seen assaults with the M16 and Acog sitting on the hills and bushes, not helping the team/objective.
That's what it is to be a bushwookie, someone who sits in there little hidie whole, and doesn't help the team, whatever class your running.
When I run the recon kit, I tend to get more motion ball points then kills, and the team tends to do better too because of it.

i allways watch,i enjoy all the commentrys but i do think that the lives arn't as good as the regulars as you dont talk as much...but hopefully if you see this you will speak more in a live commentry and make them just as awesome as your regulars :)

When that happens, I usually try to get the best possible personal record from those kinds of games. Once I had 73 kills in Nelson Bay CQ and we still lost by 25 tickets. First I was like “shit” and then I was like “wow”.

I've been playing with video capture software lately, mainly because I want to watch my own gameplay to learn where I make mistakes. No real desire to post stuff to YouTube. Still looking at options.
So far I'm preferring PlayClaw over FRAPS due to less impact to my in game frame rates (probably due to how you can adjust how many cores PlayClaw uses on the CPU).

Playclaw had audio sync issues with me as well when I started comparing it with FRAPS, but they put out an update on 5/11 that fixed it for me. Supposedly some of it had something to do with if you recorded over menus, but for BFBC2 that shouldn't really be an issue anyway. I think according to their forums 3.0 is coming in June, too.
It just feels tighter on my machine when playing in PlayClaw. Defining cores seems to help a lot.
i personally like live commentarys more. sure, sometimes it´s also interesting hear you talking about different stuff but...hey...when i´m searching for BFBC2 gameplay then i wanna get gameplay :D gameplay with ingame sound, voice chat with teammates or live comments. and when talking abstracts you in some situations...stop talking.

I understand how you feel. A couple of weeks ago I was attacking the first base of Atacama Desert on Rush and the other team weren't the best, but it did not help when my whole squad were Recon, sniping at our base, giving no helpful spawn points. I was going to swap squads until I realised that I was the only one out of 12 players on our team not sniping. I managed to arm the m-coms a few times, but how 11 snipers can't defend the m-com that is in plain sight is beyond me.
Colin, you are the best commentator I have come across for BFBC2. Your tips and advice have helped me improve my game immensly (even though I still suck, haha). I always make time to watch all your videos. Keep up the good work, you are doing a great job :)
@xjohnson42 Gaming is fun for me, but it's sometimes also a release valve for stress. So while I might be raging, as long as it's not crippling rage where I play stupid or quit altogether, I am still having fun :)
@ypaul123 It depends. If it was my fault, I don't mind. If it's a Lightweight/Body Armor guy going around just to try and take tags and I get lunged through a stream of gunfire, I get pissed.
As a new subscriber I've just watched a few of your videos so far, but what I've seen I've liked a lot. The parts were you get mad about wookies or noobtubes are just great, it's not everyone who shows their real gamer when they are doing commentary, but you are, keep it up because it's fucking great! :)

love the commentaries your live comms do come over random and distracted but i watch them anyway cause i like the content you put up, and you seem like a good guy.
Only negative feedback on your live commentaries has to be that constant smacking your mouth when you do a live com, at least when you're frustrated. Just... man, drink water or something haha, it's pretty irritating and it just usually goes on and on. I love your vids, seen 'em all and going to keep it so but the live coms can be a bit tough time to time, could be just me though knowing myself.
Damn. Your content is getting better and better with each video. 1 question thou; Why when its a regular commentary the quality is 720p, but when its a live comm, its 1080p? Is it because when its a normal live comm, you upload the raw file?
@MrStepintotheDark With a normal live comm, I'm normally just rendering out a straight conversion of the raw FRAPS file to 1080p. I could do the regular comms in 1080p, but because I wasn't expecting to have such good bandwidth on Sunday, I shrunk the videos down to 720p. It's more a function of the size of my Internet connection than the capabilities of the editing software. 1080p takes me almost 75% more time to upload and achieve good sharp quality.
I have heard "Man" can't do more than one Task focused, Fuck, Everyman is like that Colin, You can't talk and make a Plan at the same , Its normal Buddy, But you are entertaining, So most of the people doesn't care if you don't talk much, Cheers.

@oplim77 Minor rage is good on a game for 2 reasons: It helps a person release stress or pent up anger, in a private home, instead of bursting out in some public place, and it shows your passion, and determination to do good, even when your angry. :). But, obviously the 'minor' part is important too.

in the rush servers i play in singapore and taiwan, the players are very liberal with their ammo boxes and medpacks so much so that there's a hill of them in most hold-up spots with cover.
You know, I used to rage. ALOT. But I have been good about thinking of it like its just a game so Its ok, you know i'm gonna respawn in a second anyway. But now that I think of it, and you kinda helped me realize this just now, is that when you're killed, it breaks your focus or your concentration, and thats what makes people rage.
I actually think this kind of part live, part regular commentary is quite good. Perhaps you could use this method to release info on minor topics which wouldn't take up an entire video's worth of time, and you could split the video up into bits where you talk in-game about stuff and then make the bits where you don't say much the part where you talk normally about something else?
I totally understand why you'd want our, your subs, feedback on what you should produce and how but i must say that it's more important you have fun. Vids that are forced for whatever reason is often bad in the long run.
Colin i subscribed to see you play some bc2 and some other games with a little bit of live comm, and i think we all appreciate all your tips and what not. But i could care less if one game was a live and another was a dub, a gameplay is a gameplay and thats mostly the reason i subbed, along with i feel that youre generally a cool and funny commentator :D

Those guys on the hill in the last video WERE bushwookies, and it drives me fucking mad when I have them on my team. For some reason for the last 2 or 3 weeks I've been on the worst teams ever, i'm supprised when I get a team mate that uses the motion balls the right way or puts down an ammo pack when you need it.
I play on Xbox so I don't know if it's the same for the rest.
@finbar010 im having the same problem on ps3. its a combination of new people trying to get into battlefield for bf3 and people who used to play battlefield who are trying to get back into it for bf3. at least thats what a few of the bad teamates have told me.
@fireymatt2 I am right now just because I still am "learning" and improving on my basic skills. So it's a challenge for me. That said, I wouldn't say I'm primarily a PC player at this point. I'm a jack of all trades :)

I managed to arm the m-coms a few times, but how 11 snipers can't defend the m-com that is in plain sight is beyond me.

As a new subscriber I've just watched a few of your videos so far, but what I've seen I've liked a lot. The parts were you get mad about wookies or noobtubes are just great, it's not everyone who shows their real gamer when they are doing commentary, but you are, keep it up because it's fucking great! :)

Only negative feedback on your live commentaries has to be that constant smacking your mouth when you do a live com, at least when you're frustrated. Just... man, drink water or something haha, it's pretty irritating and it just usually goes on and on. I love your vids, seen 'em all and going to keep it so but the live coms can be a bit tough time to time, could be just me though knowing myself.

Damn. Your content is getting better and better with each video. 1 question thou; Why when its a regular commentary the quality is 720p, but when its a live comm, its 1080p? Is it because when its a normal live comm, you upload the raw file?

@MrStepintotheDark With a normal live comm, I'm normally just rendering out a straight conversion of the raw FRAPS file to 1080p. I could do the regular comms in 1080p, but because I wasn't expecting to have such good bandwidth on Sunday, I shrunk the videos down to 720p. It's more a function of the size of my Internet connection than the capabilities of the editing software. 1080p takes me almost 75% more time to upload and achieve good sharp quality.

@oplim77 Minor rage is good on a game for 2 reasons: It helps a person release stress or pent up anger, in a private home, instead of bursting out in some public place, and it shows your passion, and determination to do good, even when your angry. :). But, obviously the 'minor' part is important too.

in the rush servers i play in singapore and taiwan, the players are very liberal with their ammo boxes and medpacks so much so that there's a hill of them in most hold-up spots with cover.

But now that I think of it, and you kinda helped me realize this just now, is that when you're killed, it breaks your focus or your concentration, and thats what makes people rage.

I actually think this kind of part live, part regular commentary is quite good. Perhaps you could use this method to release info on minor topics which wouldn't take up an entire video's worth of time, and you could split the video up into bits where you talk in-game about stuff and then make the bits where you don't say much the part where you talk normally about something else?

Those guys on the hill in the last video WERE bushwookies, and it drives me fucking mad when I have them on my team. For some reason for the last 2 or 3 weeks I've been on the worst teams ever, i'm supprised when I get a team mate that uses the motion balls the right way or puts down an ammo pack when you need it.
I play on Xbox so I don't know if it's the same for the rest.

Question though, in rush do you consider someone who (is on defense) runs into the other teams spawn to thin out the numbers and rig their vehicles to explode, etc. a bad team mate? Also. Now for feedback, I really enjoy the live-comms you do with the DCRU guys, I remember the one when you sniped and that gave me a good laugh because of your reactions to how well you did. Also, I am not a fan of the solo live-comms, I think you need to get better with the PC before you start multi-tasking. Oh, and TRIPLE! :D
