  • sounds like BEE GEES!! how deep is your love

  • damn.

  • @deliriumtrigger96 No...sadly he told me this after he found out Cedric's actually a guy. But that would have been so funny.

  • howcome every time i walk you crawl... man this song gives me goosebumps,, actually this whole album changed my life

  • y Ahora como me bajo de esta nube?? 10/10

  • brillante ,me encanta!!! :DD

  • Mexican and puerto rican proud

  • @sipues21 AMEN! 8)

  • gracias por darle su vida a la buena musica que escuchamos

  • I think I like TMV's ballads even more than their face-melting explosions of noise and mexican fury.

  • 3:50 I came

  • Why did a picture of Omar say "Sam"?

  • I might have to check out this album. I thought the Bedlam in Goliath was just too erratic for me to give a crap about.

  • E X C E L E N T E ! ! !

  • TMV LIVE ruined every concert before and after that show for me. They came on with no opener and played for 3 straight hours. No breaks. Just one long jam. INSANE

  • Ive seen TMV live twice now. the first time i ever heard/saw them live was when they opened for system of a down. This band is simply fucking amazing and melts your face off live.

  • esta cancion hace sentir que vuelo. saludos

  • That. was. amazing.......... <3

  • i used to listen to these guys years ago, and didn't like where they went with frances the mute or whatever it was. But this newer stuff is great. good to see them improve so much.

  • @omaxpi

you're missing out on Frances! Listen again mate

  • This is art.

  • I remembered when I showed my dad this band. "I actually like this. Who's the girl singing?"

    Made my week.

  • @FlyingFuckstorm I have had people say similar things. I love it. More power Cedric for blowing minds.

  • @FlyingFuckstorm What a douche.

  • @KiraPlaysGuitar It's not even a little feminine.

  • @FlyingFuckstorm ha ha is just brillant the way this "girls" make their music!

  • @FlyingFuckstorm My brother thought he was a girl as well when i first showed him TMV!! Embarrassingly he told me he visualised this "girl" as a really good looking one too hahaha XD

  • whom ever mention the illuminati....Omar is catholic and Cedric is anti-catholic....the illuminati would eat them both...alive..and then ...dead..and then...in hell!

  • Lovin' their Illuminati symbolism!! haha

  • @17Revolution76 i think its anti Illuminati. or at least mocking them. i dont know that much about symbology though. itd be interesting to study that more

  • @thirdeyeblind3 Yeah, shows a knife going through the all seeing eye. Made me laugh.

  • ..What the Hell is Lady Gaga doing in Related Videos? One is not amused. T___T I love this song, though! :D Especially the part at 3:48

  • this chick sounds hott!

  • @aliaham Are you serious...? Ummm, clearly it's a guy

  • @JuanpiVisceraEyes LOL its called sarcasm bud, i meant to say he sounds like a bitch.

  • @aliaham Oh god sorry man xD Not my fault, I've seen my fair share of comments actually mean what they say,

  • I've listened to this album 8 times and I still think it's my favorite album among all the other albums I've listened to.

  • These guys were the cutting edge for the new millennium. Great band, I hope they outdo themselves and change music again with another "De-Loused." But if they do this kind of stuff for the rest of their career, I won't be upset LOL :)

  • Wow, belles moumoutes; )

  • 6/6

  • I'm liking the chill sound of Octahedron thus far, but I kept expecting this song to burst into a fiery face-melting guitarstorm of mexican fury. Oh well.

  • if you like these guys check out porcupine tree i promise you wont regreat it !

  • nothing like any other band in past, present or future, not even a little bit, listen to these and then LZ and you'll hear they are nothing alike, they might both blow your fucking mind though lol

  • It seems like their energy is so big and there's so much of it, that once they get on the live stage it loses control and kind of makes for a bit of a sloppy set. Otherwise, their recordings are brilliant and so intricate. It's hard not to be appreciative of what they do.

  • The mars volta are a new music genre (Y)

  • such amazing band but there is one thing about this band that is a huge disapointment, i wish this guy could acutally sing all of his songs with out any audio help, i just cant consider him a real singer when he has to special mics when performing i mean he doesnt even play a instrument you would think he could sing this stuff with out any auto tune or what ever, tmv would be sick if they would have a differnt singer!

  • @PuReNiRvANA1 sorry man i just dont agree with you.

  • @PuReNiRvANA1 I'm sorry too bro, but I don't agree with u either.

  • @PuReNiRvANA1 totally disagree. Cedric is an amazing singer. His vocal range stretches about 4 octaves I think. Plus he may not play instruments in tmv but he does play guitar and drums as well.

  • @MTVrocks Hey im not hating or being ignorant, but why does he have to use auto tune and a special mic when they perform live it just seems fake, its like a sick rock band with t pain singing it just fucks everything up! this sounds amazing i really enjoy but im about orginality and true musicanship!

  • @PuReNiRvANA1 I've never seen them live so I'm not completely sure but I do know from live videos he uses some chorus effect on his voice. Not sure if this is what you are referring to? Besides a lot of singers fine tune their voices in the studio and a lot do during live performances as well. Anyways I'm fairly sure cedric doesn't auto-tune his voice live.

  • @PuReNiRvANA1 I'm actually fairly sure a lot of it is not assisted. TMV do use a lot of affects on... everything, so it's no suprise that they have altered the voices in some places. I mean... it probably wound't sound the same without it. Frances the Mute certainly wouldn't have had the same sound it does.

  • @PuReNiRvANA1 he doesn't use auto-tune. he uses vocal effects pretty often, chorus, delay, stuff like that. i'm sure its heavily eq'd, as is any modern performance, but not auto-tuned, unless as an effect at certain times. i know of many singers who have their own mics they use almost every show. its just habit and preference. nothing to do with not being a true musician. i too am very keen on originality and true musicianship... this is one of the few bands i can agree has both.

  • @haslguitar okay fair enough thank you all of you guys who have been kind of enough to reply to me and not be ignorant about my comments i made, i like these guys and im not done during my research on them, i do feel they have tons of potenial! I think today i am actually going to buy a album of theres and give it a shot, this song right here is amazing, although i metion how i dont like the auto tune or effects , what ever you want to call it, it does makes his voice sound beautiful!

  • @PuReNiRvANA1 Well, he just treats his voice like a guitar with effects pedals and everything. Infact, he uses guitar pedals hooked up to a mic off to the side. He sings everything live, and I know this, because I've watched them live. Check out the song "Sarcophagi" if you want to hear a great example of his voice.

He just uses reverb and stuff on some songs much like Pink Floyd would on songs like "Careful With That Axe Eugene". I suggest "De-Loused In The Comatorium" if you're to TMV.

  • @BigTymerPimp *new to TMV

  • @PuReNiRvANA1 i would also suggest De-Loused in the Comatorium as a great starting point. then just go in order. Octahedron is by far one of my favorites. Bedlam in Goliath is amazing... actually... every album they have has some of the best music i've heard. de-loused was groundbreaking and musically a huge turning point for me. as was Octahedron. you're not being ignorant. i would have assumed the same thing if i were hearing them for the first time.

  • Breatiful..... Mars Volta never ceases to amaze me.

  • post the lrycis please

  • Indeed.

  • gosh @3:50 just makes me want to dump my pants...<3 it!!!

  • TMV are always a breath of fresh air in these stinking rotting crap pile of fecaloids who call themselvs "artists"...

  • this song is absolutely gorgeous. the entire album really flows together quite perfectly. excellent indeed

  • The best song off Octohedron. :D

  • fuck me, the ballands they come out with are amazing. i'm so hooked on televators.

  • This Band........wow [I'm new]

EXCELLENT compositions, EXCELLENT arrangements, EXCELLENT vocals, EXCELLENT lyrics, EXCELLENT musicians-they can actually PLAY their intruments and seem like one of those bands that'll be 1,000,000 times better live.

    EXCELLENT

    EXCELLENT

    EXCELLENT

pissed I found them so late, but BETTER LATE THAN NEVER :)

  • @themosmitsos

its never too late for the enlightenment of mars volta, keep it up

  • @themosmitsos

    congratulations!

  • @themosmitsos I absolutely love Mars Volta, bought every album on the first day they came out, but I'll tell you now, Cedric's voice is a supreme disappointment live. I haven't really found an absolutely epic live performance where Cedric sings equally as good or better than the album. It's a shame because the band is SOOO talented. His voice fits perfoectly on the albums, but live, it's ruins everything.

  • @CristiaanC acl 2008

  • @CristiaanC I'm not sure what you were expecting. He usually does pretty good but its ridiculous to think that something requiring this much energy could be done live consistently.

  • @CristiaanC It's tough to sing well when you are the high.

  • @bob1lawblaw That*

  • @themosmitsos check out asilos magdalena it's in spanish but amazing

  • Chilling.Beauty.Eloquent.Reminescent.Brilliant.

  • illuminati

  • This is the best song to crank up on surround sound speakers, light up a joint and just relax and let everything melt away =)

  • love this song, haunting and melodic

  • MODERN PINK FLOYD

  • so good when the elctronic sounds/drums come in :)

  • The 6 people that dont like this must be Justin Bieber fans

  • rola tan mas chingOna!!

  • I used to dislike this album, but I've grown to really like it. It is just so very different. I still put it a tiny bit under their first four albums, which I adore equally.

  • Mason eye=devil

  • Best song from the album! :D

  • with this song I say that they use a sound that used to annoy me and they use it to kick my asss and blow my mind. I play this everyday. the first time I heard this at the record store with the headphones I said It sucked. THe internet let me play it over and over agian and now I have to buy my fourth mars volta CD. I still have to get frances the mute too. No one sounds like this at all. AWSOME STUFF !!!

  • Please stop trying to place musicians in a nice neat little genre or compare them to earlier groups. Just listen and enjoy and realize that sometimes (very rarely) things can be "new"

  • Just heard these guys for the first time. They are quite unique. Great lyrics. Very intelligent music. Kind of reminds me of the material on A Perfect Circle's second album. Very moody and atmospheric. I might have to pick up one of their albums.

  • @Kkrouton Check out their first two albums.

  • @grimfromsome Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Left dangling in the wind...

  • They're amazing.

  • In sense, vocals kind of sound like Robert Plant and Omar can kind of compare to Page, but more of a style of Floyd.

  • left dangling in the wind...

  • omar rodriguez is the genius of today

  • true beauty,

    that's all I can say.

  • great song.. haunting yet beautiful

  • probably the best song to play while you`re going six feet under awesome pics man!!

  • Led Zeppelin? Sorry dude but your ears are fucked up! I listen to it and it tells me Floyd ,man.TMV they are just amazing!..

  • The Mars Volta man. Nuff said.

  • fuck me if im wrong, but sort of like a modern day Led Zeppelin, sorry to compare but it just reminds me of them so much

  • @Stardestroya agreed. i thought the same thing when i first heard this album.

  • @Stardestroya i think they are better than zeppelin, much more progressive

  • Comment removed

  • @Stardestroya Fuck you then. Zeppelin had way more blues and folk influence.

  • @Stardestroya especially live there the only band besides zeppelin who can just effortlessly extend there songs to triple there length they are truely amazing

  • @Stardestroya: The way that they are most similar to Led Zeppelin is innovation. It is certainly true that the high soaring vocals and punishing guitar recall Plant and Page; much like the obscure and sometimes convoluted lyrics remind one of the same obscurity and pretentiousness that "prog" rock has often dealt with. However, the genius of both Mars Volta and Led Zeppelin is that they have no predecessors. Sure they have influences, but the results they created are truly unique.

  • @lachrymaltool defin predecessors...volta=zeppelin. plus lets not forget Pridgen to compare to the great John B

  • @Stardestroya In terms of creativity: Hell fuck, yes !

  • @Stardestroya

most definitely. mars volta are torn between led zeppelin, king crimson and in the end themselves since they don't copy they integrate past into their work.

  • great song:D!!!!

  • thanks

  • This song fucking RULZ!!!!

  • beautiful song

  • this song on blow = spine shiverrrrrs ......so.....pure.

  • love this album. it's so different but so good. my favorite after deloused. such an amazing band, and i didn't even get into them until this year. bought deloused and fell in love with it, and now i have all their albums. my favorites are deloused and octahedron. least favorite is bedlam in goliath. it's still good, but comparatively, it's a mess.

  • @znoahmarhoadskill

yeah i will say that frances is my favourite album, although i love all of them.

will say that this is my favourite mars volta song at the moment though.

  • @XJizelleJurassicX

the best song in Octahedron for sure though, IMO

  • @znoahmarhoadskill

    DLIC is a masterpiece :)

  • @znoahmarhoadskill there are no messes

  • Fantastici

  • best fucking music group ever. a lot of people wont get it. but it only makes them more special. so much feeling in his voice. soooo haunting.

  • @chercherchercher I know what you mean about a lot of people not getting it, but I fucking do...beyond anything I could even comprehend to even try to explain...they just are...

  • Volta is the epitome of soul

  • lol @ up and coming. Some of us have been listening to At the drive in for years

  • @Sehv13 hahaha you´re right, first time i saw them was de facto (sigh) such great days :3

  • this album blew me away. I mean all the albums are good but i wasnt expecting this. Such a haunting sound on this album. Its amazing, no one else is doing this they set the standard.

  • Who cares what exactly he's using! Just listen to the music and Enjoy it!

Mars Volta is definately one of the greastest up-and-coming bands there is today!

  • up and coming?

  • up-and-coming?!?!

you obviously started listening to them around the time of bedlam.

  • @FasingLegend what are you talking about up and coming???!!!

cedric's voice, and the effects omar uses just get meeee ; )

  • Me too

  • omarliocentricism.

  • i think he's using a vocoder-harmony light effect with double light at the end

  • Excelente tema!!!!Un flash....

    Increible la voz de Cedric.....

  • Such an AWESOME voice!!!!!

  • Whats voice effect is he using the beginning of this song?

Is it a light vocoder or harmony effect?

  • flanger for shure...than i don't know others effects used

  • the vocals are a masterpiece

  • Esta canción es lo mejor del mundo

  • Ooh, I think I heard Björk-esque beats near the end of the song, me likey!

  • This is so good. <3

  • es como si en una licuadora hubieran metido a zeppelin, morrison, floyd y la hubieran encendido!!! buenisima cancion, estos sujetos no dejan de maravillarme

  • they get better every album

  • amazing album !

  • love the mars volta. this albums so different to the others. love the digital beat that breaks in halfway on this tune. been looking for anything else thats similar, though i doubt i'll find it. mars are just too good

  • i have not found a band that cant top the musician ship of the mars volta. when i first got frances the mute i sat in a chair with my friends and listened to the whole album without moving once. only word for these guys is perfect

  • well said.

  • Man these guys just blow my mind at every turn.

with the crap that is released regularlly by rock/metal band has been so sophmorish. The Mars Volta is a gift of beauty and melody with skilled players.

Looking forward to seeing them next wednesday at the HOuse of Blues in Boston!!!

    They will rock the house

  • they have full blown tapped into the GENIUS that is the mars volta now...i truly don't know where they will go from here
