I thought Streep became that nun. Every gesture and grimace belonging to the character. In my opinion, stronger performance than Sophie. Streep really wasn't Sophie. She was Streep, never more beautiful, playing Sophie, and we were all in awe over the accent at the time. Now developing accents seems to be standard fair in Hollywood. But Streep was that nun.
being well dressed =/= image obsessed. actually, I know more image obsessed people who dress poorly than who dress well because image obsessed people often want to deliberately look like they don't care about their image and resort to false humility which gives them a false sense of superiority and "global awareness"
