  • De las mejores composiciones del Rock...grandes-

  • in philly in 1980, someone grabbed his guitar into the audience- and dave fought like hell to get it back- and he did!

  • I guess compared to the Bee Gees, the Kinks were a little better. The Kinks were always about lyrics and music, so I would put "Superman" above most of the disco-driven work of the Bee Gees.

  • @candyrn16141 damn of course they are better ! :-)

  • is this right 'round the time ,they played the pne garden ?

  • I was around( Junior in High School) in 1964 when the British Invasion hit America.

Music was boring with American Bandstand rock stars lip syncing to the songs.

These groups came over and were exciting, had long hair, wrote their own music, played live.

The Beatles, Stones, DC5, Kinks, Cream, Jimi and then USA Groups, Beach Boys, Doors, Janis and many more were on Ed Sullivan every Sunday Night.

It was a great time to be young!!

  • seen em 10 or 11 times started good punk rock

  • coke, you really got me goin, you got me so i cant sleep at night :)

  • WEW!! YOU really got me goin~~~~~ Fantastical energy received from this gift and share. Thanks M.A. for this rendition of PURE ENERGY OF LOVINGNESS. MY answer to your query is a resounding: YES YES YES YES. <3 U Dear Friend. :-)))

  • The douche bag who messed who the solo

  • it's thier song....

  • Coked up shit performance

  • great act

  • The Kinks created this song in 1964 ! Van Hallen played it in 1978... Eddie Van Hallen was a very great guitar hero, but not a genius like the Davis Brothers.

  • 1:27 get off)))))

  • van halen ftw! eat it kinks

  • @LosinThought kinks wrote it first

  • @zippydude12345 yea but Van Halen made it a million and 10 times better

  • @LosinThought true.

  • @LosinThought You must eat shit in order for you to talk shit.

  • @kingofpunk1977 i aint talking shit i'm talkin the truth..kinks were boring as fuck and van halen really ramped up this song

  • @LosinThought Anit talkin bout love but you are still talking shit

  • @LosinThought you got that right

  • @LosinThought you are talking shit

  • Saw them in Phoenix AZ early 80's AMAZING...!!!

  • this sounds so speedup like

  • man... they fucked this song up...

  • @MrPedrorcc its live dumb ass

  • @10mannyman I know it man... but they fucked it up anyway!!

  • Dave Davies guitar riffs live, were just face peeling ear burning raw testosterone laden exuberance...GOTTA LOVE IT!

  • 19 year old and all i can say is TOP CLASS!!

  • saw them 5 times over the years. big and small halls. fabulous shows always. British rock personified.

  • I've never known why bands play their songs quicker when live....any ideas????

  • @baysidelad1 It's usually the adrenaline rush you get while on stage. Like when the audience digs the music and gets into it and stuff.

  • LOL 50 bpm faster than the original.

  • Is this a stupid question? Is it? Or isn't it? Is anyone sure ? Or not? Maybe?

  • Van Halen version sucks comparing to the original. The Kinks fuckin rocks! what a solo!

  • Yeah, this is was the best time , 1977-1984, for the kinks !!!

this here is from 1979......great concerts !!!

  • @MrCCRFan Long live Rock N Roll!

  • @MrCCRFan Those of us who have been Kinks fans since 1964 would never consider '77-'84 their best period. It's simply absurd. How many of their greatest songs/albums were recorded then, compared to 1964 - 1975???

  • @StevenTut many more !!! tell me, when are the songs sleepwalker, low budget, superman, pressure, do it again, think visual, lost and found, give the people what they want, Oh my good i could tell you many more, written ??

this time was professional - more than in the 60's.

but the 60's were great too ! and i think the kinks in every era where great.

but this one from 1979-1986 is my favourite one.

  • @MrCCRFan Saying '79-'86 is your favorite Kinks period is one thing. Claiming that their albums/songs from that era are better than '64-'72(Something Else, Village Green Preservation Society, Arthur, Lola vs Powerman, Muswell Hillbillies) goes against virtually every published opinion by rock historians, writers, and critics worldwide, as well as the vast majority of Kinks fans. You're only 15. It's really fantastic that you appreciate the Kinks but you have alot to learn yet. Do some reading

  • @StevenTut Oh Oh your right in this thing i have to say - BUT: I RED VERY VERY MUCH about the kinks (and other things)

but musically, i guess, your right, that me most people thing this wasnt as good as their early time, because many people thing, e.g. word of mouth (the song) is only a boring guitar lick song with unseriously screams.

but for me its such a great song

so, i guess the "golden era" was of course 1966

but my fav. era and for me the best is 1979-1986.

    cheers.

  • @MrCCRFan Actually, their "golden period" is considered to be '67-'72, because of the amazing creativity of the albums they released. I saw Ray Davies in Buffalo, NY last Sunday and he really put on an incredible show. Had an excellent backing band for the Kinks rockers - they simply blistered "You Really Got Me"! At 67, Ray hasn't lost anything.

  • @StevenTut now i gotta say, thats right.

    but for me from '66-'72

because of the EXCELLENT alvum Face to face which i love.

Ray has lost nothing indeed, but maybe sometimes dave on guitar isnt there (and you notice that...nobody in Ray's backing band has this aggresiv guitar style like dave, but thats not a main thing, so who cares, AND:

its ray SOLO, so its ok i think)

  • The VanHalen version is so much better...The guitar is was too fast and the singer, the singer, just no... no.

  • I presume by the stage antics (playing to the audience) that this is a show in the States? It's alright but a little too 'showy' for my tastes. Ray's doing his best Jagger impression strutting about the stage like a rooster on coke but I prefer the earlier live versions (pumped up 80's Rock just isn't my cup of tea.)

  • Is this the Kinks covering Van Halens cover version of their own song in a way cooler way XD

  • and if it had been me playing and that jerkwad grabbed my guitar, he probably would've been missing some teeth

  • they did a lot of their concerts faster than the recordings........don't know if it's adrenalin or drugs....but when you're there in person, it doesn't matter

    they were electrifying in person

  • @raksana0 yeah its weird, when my band gigs we akways play faster ( although its not drugs ) but we didnt even notice until we listen to it back

  • @raksana0 when you play live, its often so, the adrenalin, and i would say, a bit faster, it sounds a bit more "sexy" hahah

  • damn if i whas that guitarist i would kill the bastard that's trying to fuck up my solo O_O

  • Why are they singing it so fast?

  • @Mufaso1000 why do people like you always ask stupid questions?

  • someones on coke....

  • 45 freaking years later, Ray Davies and the Kinks still rock!!! The Kinks still kick ass!!

  • the version from BF veitnam.

  • 1:30 best part of the music

  • i bet that guy who messed up his solo got his ass beat by all the other fans

  • @ledzepp063 That's Dave and a fan was touching his guitar. So if anyone would've gotten his ass kicked it probably would've been the fan..

  • @Schmeunie thats what i said

  • @ledzepp063 When I saw them (I think it was 84') David got down on his knees like that twice and just put his guitar out there and let a bunch of people up front hit it while he continued to play, it actually sounded very cool.

Of course none of them just grabbed the strings like that douche did.

The Kinks are still to this date, one of the best bands I have ever seen live, and I have seen a ton of good shows.

  • Now that I think of it, David put his guitar down during the solo for "All of the day and all of the night" and also let the fans hit the strings while he played.

  • @ledzepp063

I wish he got at least kicked out. Such a stupid cunt.

I'm sure the whole solo got screwed up, he bloody spoiled his inspiration.

***holes are always there to screw good things up.

  • @ledzepp063 I saw them in 83 and dave did the same thing. i think it's a dave davies trademark.

  • @ledzepp063 He didn't mess it up, a fan pulled his guitar.

  • @papano12 thats what he meant -.- The guy who messed up Dave Davies solo

  • @ledzepp063 na it wasnt his fault they grabbed his hands and shit he recovered!!

  • @fatadam16 I meant the fan.

  • when was it and where ?

  • NEVER touch a guitarist's instrument.

  • Epic moves @ 0:12

  • That's so mean slapping that mans hand what that Davies guy think how the fans feeling bet they feel excited and stuffs

  • @JohnPeace2 he slapped his hand away because he grabbed his guitar and messed up his solo

  • A mindblowing performance from The Kinks but what year is this?

  • @ozziemckenzie

    1979 I think.....

  • Wow that blew, thank god for VH pumpin this tune with some steroids...

  • don't touch my guitar

for god sake he screws up dave davies guitar solo who every did that is not kool

  • don't touch my guitar

  • LONG LIVE THE KINKS!

    LOVE YOU TILL I DIE!

  • Awesome song. Love this version. But dude... If I was on stage playing a solo, and somone reached up and touched the strings... I would kick them in the face. Like really.

  • The Kinks' greatest..

  • Hard to play with someone's hand all over the strings.

  • 1:26-1:31 He's like "Bitch don't touch my guitar!"

  • y grab his guitar

  • people obviously don't understand that this song is ORIGINAL to the kinks. This isn't a cover for anyone. KINKS FOREVER

  • Whoa... is he totally on speed or what ???

  • 1:30 Hahahahaahah !!!!!!!!!!!!!! awesome !!! :D

  • that song rocks like how R&r is ment to be

  • hmmm to fast i like the earlier versions , it dont sounds like the kinks, looks stupid!!

  • Totally Underrated..

  • It seems to me that The Kinks should be wise enough to know by now that if you're excited and as exuberant at what you're doing, the audience is going to feel that vibe, too, and be EVERY BIT AS EXCITED YOU YOU ARE. The gentleman who played the guitar solo was kind of mean...if you run up to a bunch of fans (especially young ones) what do you expect them to do?? Sheesh!!

  • Oh for all you young idiots out there...you always thought this was a song by that lousy group Van Halen???? Oh no no no.....now you can see what a '60s band can really do. Screw Van Halen and have some respect for the Kinks.

  • @Kenoman29 , please the van halen version is so much better douchebag. you dont know what real rock is like. get a clue

  • @Ajwmsaguitarman yeah ok ass breath. I've been following music since around 1956 and I dont know what rock is. Do some research on the Golden Age of Rock & Roll and then come back and talk to me after you've changed your fucking diaper.

  • At 1:30 Dave Davies is like, "Get the fuck away from MY guitar you stupid douche!!!"

  • @dubbly1 I'm surprised Dave didn't throw any punches at that guy.

  • Anyone know where this was recorded? The Roseland Dance Hall NYC on New Years Eve 1984? Unless that girl poking at Dave's guitar followed Dave from town to town screwing with his guitar licks, that is the New Years show they put on. I was just in back of her, and she was really plastered. That half H set up,, which they used on that entire tour, did kind of lend itself to people grabbing and so forth. Anyway, lived to tell about it.

  • @MegaRussellC82 This version is from the "One For The Road video Album, which on the VHS tape says Providence RI, 1979.

The vinyl / CD version of this same album uses an entirely different live version of this song, though. In fact just about all of the tracks from the "One For The Road" album are different from the "One For The Road" video album.

  • Show, pity it's the great bassist th Pete died yesterday

  • THEY REALLY GOT ME!

  • Is my brain slowing down so much?

I can't cope with this corruption of such a good pop song.

  • @roughyed7 This is ROCK AND ROLL, man!

  • @roughyed7 It was an encore for Gods sake on New Years Eve-----about half the crowd had a coke rush :D.

  • @roughyed7 I'd agree if this was a band covering a piece by another artist, but this is Davies' own work and he can do whatever he wants with it.

  • Blows me away

  • asweome so fuckin asweome

  • asweome so fuckin asweome

I am sorry to hear...get yourself a Kinks greatest hits album, play it every day and you will feel better than ever before early spring!

  • Plenty more fish in the sea

  • @l4dhunter200 Montla sıç!

  • Piss off, its prolly because you tried to finger her and poked her in the eye.

  • so there's not a girl to get you goin? Well atleast you can sleep at night now.

  • I love this band...The first hard rock band ever!!!!!

  • What was that stupid idiot thinking at 1:30 ?

  • @alexn882 Yet you notice how cool Dave was -- he got out of the situation instantly and did not make a big deal out of it or wreck the show for everybody

  • @alexn882 They really got him now, so he don't know what he's doing

  • @alexn882 lol no doubt, never interrupt a power slide in progress

  • @alexn882 He wasn't if why trying to mess with fucking Dave Davies guitar.

And right in the middle of his solo.

    Dumbass.

  • @alexn882 Probably the same thing the knucklehead that I saw at a TALAS / Yngwie Malmsteen show in 1985 in New York was thinking. "How can I be an assh**e?" During Yngwie's set this kid in the front row tried to take the bandana wrapped around Yngwie's ankle almost making fall backwards! When Yngwie composed himself, he took such a kick at this kid's face he looked like a field goal kicker going for three points! The kid was lucky Yngwie missed him or else he would have been in the ER.

  • @alexn882 ...Dave was thinking 'give me the love you give my brother....but DON'T TOUCH ME!'....Lol

  • @alexn882 Sign my hat!!!!!!

  • He really doesn't know what his is doing...hahaha

  • nice way to fuck up a great solo asshole at 1:30 !

  • GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM MY GUITAR!!

  • @lip58 oh yeah

  • Now THAT is the way it's suppose to be done, Van Halen

  • van halen did a great job

  • great!

  • wow, now that's a band

  • lol, 1:28 the crazy fan messes up the solo XD

    Great performance , love it!

  • Whoa, this version is totally bitchin'...but the one that's on Battlefield: Vietnam is even better since it has an incredible opening riff. Anyone know where it came from?

And cocaine is one hell of a drug...

  • it's on the 1980 live cd one for the road. this was some of dave's best playing. his tone rips. if you ever see the rockpalast dvd from 1982, he tears into pretty good as well. i picked up the guitar when i was 14 because of the 1980 cd version. learned that intro fairly well. it's not that hard. just use a les paul with a peavey heritage or triumph, & you can get that tone. i've gotten into trower, zep, bonamassa & hendrix more, but the kinks stuff is always good to hear & play. they rule live

  • Holy shit, thank you SO much for the info!

I found the mp3 (thanks to usenet) and now I'm off to find a physical CD. Gotta support good music like this :)

  • glad to help. i remember the morning i first heard it. i was getting ready for school at 7am, radio was better back then. i was blown away. that intro did it for me. been playing ever since. the cd is still in stores or ebay

  • holy shit thats the version i've been looking for!

  • I couldn't agree more with you mate!!!

    :D

  • hahahaha or speed

  • This version should've been on their CD, it sounds more metal.

  • Wow.....this video just proves that cocaine makes you nuts. Long live the Kinks!

  • haha the dude in the crowd thought he would add a few notes to the solo.

  • Hot damm-this is a great version! Great!

  • what the hell is wrong with them here, they're playing 3 times as fast,

  • You hear the 80´s Rock Music Version - I think?! The original version is the Beat Generation - is another speed --- music gets faster and faster...like the humans life... ;-) :-) I think Original is the best!

  • coicane dude a big drug back then

  • i liked itv when he pushed the fan away

  • lol sorry, 1:27

  • Not that funny :S

  • lol! 1:29 lmfao

  • Heard this on a game battlefield vietnam classs tune hi
