  • to remove the gun, it's cg_drawgun 0. To get the graphics to look "Atari"-ish, you need r_picmip 5, then vid_restart. Your fps will increase dramatically. In Q3, you always want to set your com_maxfps at 120. This allows you to jump higher and farther (it's actually a q3 bug that everyone exploits, even pros) You can improve performance even more with vertex light, which removes all shadows, thereby improving visibility. I also recommend r_subdivision 80.

  • u set vertexlight too 0 ? or 1 2 imporove perfomance more and remove all shadows

  • You have to turn vertex light on to remove all shadows. I believe it's r_vertexlight 1. This improves fps dramatically, but the primary purpose for this is actually to improve your aim. In general if you wanna kick ass you have to remove as much extraneous detail as possible.

  • @ianchang1 picmip does not improve FPS.

  • hehe hello man ...im quite used to quake i love this game...and what u said is good to spread over the comunnity so the gammers improve even faster...but u got me with the r_subdivisions 80 ...can u tell me what it does specificly? im a cfg nuts and i really like to be up to date with every term so i can test it out ;D hf :)

  • in quake 3 you typ r_picmip 5 and than vid_restart and u can keep the picmip and normal gunvieuw with nomip.
