  • I boil mine first on my gas stove or you could take them part done and reheat to get a crispy skin...just an idea but if you only have your cobb....hum...well, wait!

  • The Argau Camping Toasters would be a great accessory

  • what no shrimp? LMAO

  • How well does it cook steaks? About how hot can this thing get?

  • It gets pretty hot, says it gets to 500 F and it runs on good brickets for Id say 4-5 hours at most.

Ive good tons of steak as well as a full chicken and pork leg.

The large pieces (full chicken or leg) just require less peaking and a good few hours to cook slow, awesome product, love this thing

  • Has anyone successfully cooked baked potatoes with a cobb?

Mine were still not done after almost 6 hours!!

  • Never tried potatos as yet, Mine is still back in South Africa, Ive ordered one here in the US, when I get it Ill give potatos a try and let you know

  • Baked whole potatoes take much more heat than the regular 8-9 briquettes that Cobb recommends. Use as many briquettes as will fit in the basket, about 10-12, fill the moat with a little bit of water, (and refill every 30 minutes). Medium to large, (cut in half to fit) russets will take about one hour if wrapped in foil. Add more briquettes in 40 minutes, and turn the potatoes. Baby/sliced potatoes work much better cook faster. A foil pouch helps too!
