  • Now that I think about this. I think I might start a game similar to this only using rpg maker VX.

One thing though...Where did you find all your resources you the menu pictures/characters/etc.?

  • @Pikzipp I mostly recreated the images through Photoshop using gradients and various filters. For the characters (faces and body shots), I simply used Google and cropped them to match how they'd look in the game.

  • This just proves how much better RMXP is than RMVX.

  • @nagato455 I'm sure that this is possible in RMVX, but I prefer RMXP because it just looks like RMVX went back to RM2K3 standards, graphics wise. Plus, the higher default resolution (even though it is possible to go even higher than 640x480 on both).

  • WIIIIIII AT LEAST! RIKU IN A FF!

  • Ive looked and looked, can you tell me how to not use square boxes for my menu's? I finally found the cursor fix, but it seems most RMXP sites have went down. Can you give me some advice on how to make a CMS like this one?

  • @HunterDVincent You can hide the window skin by placing "self.opacity = 0" just before "refresh" in the "initialize" method. This will hide the window skin, but will still show the window's contents. Adjusting the number will adjust the opacity of the window skin, but won't effect the contents. If you want to chang the opacity of the contents, use "self.contents_opacity = n" variable, where n equals a number between 0 and 255.

  • @stupidstormy36 Ohh, so if i was wanting to make like circles around my self.contents(such as item, equipment, ect) how would i go about doing that? I just get rid of the box completely and then make a background picture behind it all? but how would i go about implementing a picture behind it all and making multiple pictures for the other windows? Im sure if you could just lemme know how to put a picture behind the main scene i can figure out the rest haha. or how do you do this exactly?

  • @HunterDVincent Everything you see here are images, except for the text. The images are all seperated from the windows themselves (sprites). The images are always generated first, then the windows. This can be set by setting the z value for each item, them images with a lower number ( say 100s) with the top most image with the highest value, and the windows get a highr value (say 500s). The cursor always gets the highest value (say 999). Just line up the window with the image.

  • @stupidstormy36 Nice, I've been trying to figure this out for awhile, cause i see lots of CMS with this and im like wtf how is there shit round and i cant get mine like that... o.O I'll have to figure out a script for this or find one lol, work kills my time to do any scripts during the week =[... Thanks a bunch! Btw how long have you worked on this? or is it a work still in progress?

  • @HunterDVincent I've worked on this for about 2 or 3 months before this video was uploaded. i haven't really been working on it as much as I'd like to due to, well life. It is still a work in progress. I really am glad that you like it!
