My friend and I were about to go to sleep in a tent in my back yard when a fireball shot across the sky and we both saw it, scared the hell out of us and we decided to spend the night inside. But that was probably one of the most amazing things I've ever seen.
By the way the star that doesn't move is it a almost centure of the screen if not just a little left (horizontally) and about 2/3 of the way up the screen?
Dude Thunderf00t, back in the day... shit probably 7 or 8 years ago, I was in Barstow, CA visiting some family and we caught sight of a huge one. It was a bright green thing looked just like that, it was actually quite slow. After traveling a bit, it combusted in the sky with in a green and orangish flash and slowly went dim.
Weird shit, in watching the news they mentioned it and said it was - yes, a WATER BALLOON hahahaha!!! My family saw it too, crazy shit :D
Oh man, that fireball was AWESOME!!!! You lucky bastard lol. Thanks for showing us who can't go out and do these adventures yet the sights and safe travels.
Great luck with the fireball there. The way things are going on this trip I keep wondering what other rare things your going to show us lucky buggers. Good work!
Stroke of luck indeed! What a lot of folks don't seem to realize is that this stuff happens all the time. Being there and documenting it is the rarity.
The New Mexico desert is beautiful. :)I live in Albuquerque and get the privileged of seeing it everyday. :D Where did you go in NM when you came here?
Yes, I saw it too. I was driving in Portland, Oregon (about 150 miles northwest of your location) when I noticed a bright-greenish ball, streaking across the sky from west to east, a little after midnight PDT on August 3. It was pretty cool to watch.
haha, this guy is my fucken' hero. Regardless of how much of an idiot hes acting occasionally these days, hes still my favoroute sub.
I would love to catch this guy around the country someday.

Sweetness. The piano melody in the second half of the video seemed really familiar...that wasn't Donnie Darko was it? I just can't remember. :x

I would have been really annoyed that I hadn't set the camera up pointing just a little bit further to the right!

Wow. That is amazing that you were able to get that on film. Meteors are worth a lot of money if you are able to find them.
