I love so much this scene. I've seen it almost 30 times. My tears were almost always on teh edge of my eyes. I've started to love this great woman - Cate - since this film especially this scene in it. She has got so beautiful heart, so lovefull, so crystalic soul. Thank to her for her.
Questa è recitazione vera, non quelle porcate delle fiction italiane nelle quali si vede, lontano 10 chilometri, che recitano come cani. In questo film invece sembra che ogni parola viene dal cuore, come realmente dovrebbe essere un film fatto bene.
Oh my god ! ! Meilleure scène du film avec celle de l'église. Cate y est incroyable. Whoua, j'en reviens toujours pas. Excellent ! Une scène vachement riche en émotions ! Mon pauvre cœur... :)
Halfnelson28 : I totally agree with you, Giovanni Ribisi doesn't need to speak very much to give emotions to his characters. He is the best actor ever
Giovanni, how I LOVE thee. Let me count the ways!!!!!!!!! There is NO amount of space that I can write fully about this magic man!!!!! He is insanely talented and sooooo beautiful!!!!! In Heaven, he says so much with his eyes and expressions that tell soooooooooo
much. He is mesmerizing to watch on screen. Truly remarkable!!!!!!!!!! Can he be any more precious?

meh, i've never thought she's anything special, and this is pure evidence of that. she's INSANELY predictable, i don't get why people find her so amazing. She holds her own, granted, but she's not overly wonderful.
I'm always curious why people who supposedly don't like her go out of their way to look her up? Anyway, "predictable" she is NOT. lol. Why do we find her so amazing? Because she is the finest actress of her generation, that's why. She can stun you with a mere glance, make you truly feel for her character and their dilemna, laugh at her antics, astound you with her versatility and range and pin you to your seat with such a profound depth, presence and power. Your loss if you don't see it.
And you just EXACTLY answered my question and proved my theory. The fact that you can list all those things that she's capable of doing and pinpoint them out in such a way is predictability, not depth. You know it's coming, You KNOW what she's going to do. My loss, because i CAN see it. Typical trained actor, they all fall into it. Take someone I would call amazing. Heath Ledger, a typical untrained actor, mostly RAW emotion, you never know what is coming next, because it's ALL from the heart.
Umm, how on earth is my explanation predictable? Actually, I think the most amazing thing about her and something I consider her hallmark is in fact her UNpredictability. You never know what she's going to do next, you never know what role she'll choose, it's always a trip. There is a kineticism I find in Blanchett's acting which is riveting. It's all boiling underneath the surface yet beautifully restrained. Listen, we won't ever agree because I have a much different perspective on acting.
...than you but I respect your opinion. I happen to see a lot of spontaneity to and vivacity in her acting, you don't. We, as humans, are so vastly different with our reactions to things, it's inevitable we'll disagree. When Blanchett performs, for me there's something boiling away inside, such a mystery, a hidden eruption. I agree with actor Christopher Eccleston, "she's got the perfect combination of intellect and instinct, but at the end of the day she'll let instinct override."
okay...really need to edit my statements, I repeated myself. lol. Anyway...hmmm...Heath Ledger? Talented actor but one I feel never was given the chance to reach his full potential. I have loved him in certain performances (INT & TDK) but was less than impressed with others (BBM, TKT, TP, & 10 things). I think he can either be brilliant or incredibly flat and goodness...dare I say it? predictable. LOL. But I will agree that when he was on, he was inspiring! :-)
Oh, and about this raw emotion and all from the heart business...I happen to think Blanchett possesses this is spaids. Elizabeth, TTMR, Heaven, The Gift, Little Fish, VG, NOAS, it's all evident to me. I feel it, you don't, oh well, different perspective I guess. Let's just agree to disagree, shall we? ;-)
yeah its ok, no offense intended, just a healthy discussion, agree to disagree lol true true, she's just never done it for me though as i said before, her and nicole kidman (except in the human stain, what a role she turned in) have always never made me feel anything about them
Oh, and thanks for being understanding and respectful! It annoys me to no end when people aren't accepting of others opinions and discent. Hate machines are entirely unnecessary!
hehe, I will however, agree with you on Nicole. Now that's an actor I find predictable and lacking in raw emotion...but even some Cate fans just adore her, so I'm only able to relay my own individual reaction.
