I was talking about this very sort of things the other day with some friends; Seems that the role of religion , political figures/doctrines and some philosophical constructs (determinism , fatalism etc.) are conscious or unconscious way to avoid a guilt/responsibilities.

So if you get into trouble then it was predetermined, fate or god or some none sense , however if you did something good, then its all me in my unique magnificent capacities.
