@Clod15 ive done the batch file thing but it looks oldschool... looking to make a decent program with a droplist with a choice of lines + to change your gateway + dns. weve got 4 lines that splits our admin and factory with each one backup adsl line ...that means i must walk almost 1 km to go retype the ip or gateway... batch file works but i need a more visual interface with huge red arrows showing where to click .... people here are to technical for pcs

@dubelkill That isn't weird at all. It is your local IP; Everyone in the world could have the same local IP and it would be a problem. Your local IP doesn't matter outside your network. Your external IP, does though.

no thats not a gateway address a gateway address ends with a 1 your gateway address is usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 if the last octet is greater than 1 then its an IP Address

do you even know what a Static IP Address a Static IP Address never changes its the opposite of a Dynamic IP Address which may change everytime you connect to the internet because of your router/modems DHCP Server so there is actually no way of being able to tell if its a Static IP Address or a Dynamic IP Address just from watching the video

To find the COM component all you have to do is:

On the "Choose Toolbox Items" dialog, Click "COM Components" at the top, then click "Browse" near the bottom, search for it in the directory you un-zipped it to, eg.System32. DONE! lol :)

I think its because of my trial version of vb 2008 Express edition but I don't have the winsock control :( ... and anyways it dosn't work on vista (and yes on my XP leptop its working) because I tryed it with vb 6 ...

everyone with a Class C network does a class C network is where the first octet of the IP Address is from 192-223 the internet can support up to several million class c networks but each class c network can only have 254 hosts on it

Oh, and another thing. I alredy had this winsock control in system32 (i have winXP and sp2) and it worked with that one. So some people don't need to install an extra one. By the way, it's usefull tutorial and thank you :D
