@InformerMaz 11 dimensions is talking about something slightly different. That theory isn't so much about time - which is the central focus on this one. That one is more an attempt at an explanation of why the Gravitational Force is so weak compared to the other major forces in our universe (Electromagnetic, Strong and Weak Nuclear Forces). So I don't necessarily think this one and 11 dimensions is connected, and my calling it 7 is just because the first three are unrelated to the last 7.
@InformerMaz any time traveling and meeting an earlier self would ultimately change the current self because every moment determines who we are. So if I were to better explain this concept, I would work on the assumption of parallel universes, where there are an infinite number of parallel universes and in each is another version of us where the initial conditions are slightly different, and to travel in "time" would be to go to a different universe. But that only works on an assumption.

This video is flawed simply because from their "seventh" dimension you would have all possibilities, negating 8-10. It's a cute idea, but just doesn't make sense. If it would have stopped at the seventh dimension, that would have been okay. But clearly this was just a concept someone wanted to keep pushing so they just repeated dimensions 5-7 but changed the wording a little bit to make it sound like a new situation. It's actually quite integral that, in the physical world, there be another dimension on top of the 3rd. However, that is in the physical world, I think you could argue, mathematically speaking, that music could simply be specified in ℝ^2, which has two dimensions (pitch and time).

Hmmm....what if the fifth demension was like time travel and in order to get to that depth (which is the same as the third demension) we would have to bend our minds? So maybe our thought process is like one of the demensions as well, hence the theory of levatation? Hmmm...lol...All of this is so fascinating yet confusing! No, that's not... It doesn't work like that. Ugh. WHY do people have such a poor understanding and explain these things with painful oversimplification? Ok, so SOME of it is acceptable, but this whole thing is really just facepalm fuel. If there's one thing I know, it's how higher dimensions work(and more than anything, time travel). That and Norse mythology.

@InformerMaz 11 dimensions is talking about something slightly different. That theory isn't so much about time - which is the central focus on this one. That one is more an attempt at an explanation of why the Gravitational Force is so weak compared to the other major forces in our universe (Electromagnetic, Strong and Weak Nuclear Forces). So I don't necessarily think this one and 11 dimensions is connected, and my calling it 7 is just because the first three are unrelated to the last 7.

@InformerMaz any time traveling and meeting an earlier self would ultimately change the current self because every moment determines who we are. So if I were to better explain this concept, I would work on the assumption of parallel universes, where there are an infinite number of parallel universes and in each is another version of us where the initial conditions are slightly different, and to travel in "time" would be to go to a different universe. But that only works on an assumption.

This video is flawed simply because from their "seventh" dimension you would have all possibilities, negating 8-10. It's a cute idea, but just doesn't make sense. If it would have stopped at the seventh dimension, that would have been okay. But clearly this was just a concept someone wanted to keep pushing so they just repeated dimensions 5-7 but changed the wording a little bit to make it sound like a new situation. A for effort though.

@InformerMaz First of all, in the beginning the third dimension is explained as it really is, depth. Later though it is referred to as a "fold" for the purposes of the ant. Maybe, to be generous, it is a fold to the ant. But to us it is an accepted part of our reality and not a method of transporting from one place to another. Next every instance of time travel would have to be in what the video describes as the sixth dimension because as earlier comments pointed out:

Fascinating little clip. Too bad it's utter nonsense. Treating time as the fourth dimension is possibly the biggest blunder of modern physics. This exercise does it several times over to create another dimension. And the folding of dimensions is the other nonsensical trick. Again used several times over. It is truly amazing how gullible some people can be. What is more amazing is how they can convince others that they are right.

Problem. If you are able to go back in time and change what happens, it thus destroys you due to the fact that all the events that lead up to you then are lost.
Next, this views time and space as limited when, in a system, it continues for infinity. The point? Simple. Our point is infinity by the fourth dimension, or time.

@secondnumber You cannot. I suppose I misspoke: the entire physical world at any given time exists in the 3rd dimension. If time is unspecified, it exists in the 4th dimension. It's actually quite integral that, in the physical world, there be another dimension on top of the 3rd. However, that is in the physical world, I think you could argue, mathematically speaking, that music could simply be specified in ℝ^2, which has two dimensions (pitch and time).

I can only really grasp the first 3 dimensions. When I hear people talk about Aliens coming from another dimension in inner-dimension vehicles I could never understand would that would mean. But then I thought about what would happen if we took a car into the 2nd dimension lol. After that it kind of made sense to me, not the dimension but how they would have to use like some kind of portal or worm whole so they could use their craft in our dimension. Idk if e.t. is real just saying I get it.

It's physically impossible to travel back in time due to "feedback", but traveling to the future is definitely possible. Everyone does it, and we do it all the time. Movement slows down time, and being next to massive objects slows down time. Unfortunately these time differences are billionths of billionths of billionths of a second but it's still happening.
