  • If one of them were to mess up, they would all be screwed.

  • why are we talking about Lady Gaga when we've all clicked on a video to watch Swan Lake? Just chill and enjoy the music/dancing...

  • @robinthesunxxx you are a complete moron, I like Lady Gaga, but in no way is she an art form. Just stop talking before you embarrass yourself anymore.

  • Todavía se preserva la gran tradición del ballet ruso, aunque los degenerados yankees hayan hecho sus "performances" delirantes y caóticas. Да здравствуйте Болшой Баллет!

  • @RobinthesunXXX, really? Because this music and this show has withstood the trials of almost 136 years. What does Gaga have on that? A Grammy? Oh shit! What will Tschaikovski do high up there on his pillar among the musical giants? I have respect for Lady Gaga, she is brilliant. I don't have respect for people who bash this wonderful music just because they can't find any means of expression within it. You don't have to love it, all we ask is that if you don't like it, just shut up and go away.

  • These dancers are fabulous and their performance is virtually flawless. However, although I enjoy classical ballet in general, I have always hated that particular pas de quatre. I am perfectly aware that this is a very difficult and exhausting piece for the dancers. It is the entire concept I find utterly ridiculous. The way they are positioned, the performers look like a galloping garden fence.

  • I am learing this now!! Its so hard!! :)

  • I'm a classical ballet rehearsal pianist and have worked with all the major dance companies in the world. I love them all but the Kirov is my favorite.

  • My ballet teacher tried to teach us this routine. It is so difficult, just doing it without he synchronization of 3 other dancers. I have such respect for these dancers!!

  • @danceteacher21 BRAVO!

  • great timing!:)

  • SO WANNA DO BALLET. but i defffff don't wanna be THAT skinny. it looks a little weird.

  • @raheemhot You don't have to be that skinny to do ballet. I do ballet (granted, just beginning ballet) and I'm not skinny at all. As long as you're strong and fit, you can be excellent at ballet.

  • I learned this combination today and my dance camp :) Very fun :)

  • GAH! the hands O.o i'd be confused before going on stage to do that. I'd be like who's hand do i hold with this hand?

  • @ThePingShowJL For real.

  • help - my favourite musical genre is heavy metal / rock but this is fantastic!! I am so confused......

  • @holtsmere Why be confused haha? Music is music. Rock is awesome but this is magnificent too. Just like it all :) It's what I do lol.

  • I got to watch this in my 5th birthday and then when walked out the building it was

    Snowing!

    Beat birthday EVER!

    luv this SOOOOO much, :D

  • this is beautiful, however the girl on the right middle is a bit lazy with her footwork, especially on the pekes

  • has any one tried standing in a leaf twister? it's SO cool. love the song and dance by the way

  • Very nice piece. I'm not a ballet man but I enjoy the music of Swan Lake. The choreography is quite nice too

  • I thought the little swans would point their head in all directions with force, like: right, down, left and up again... But I miss the power here, and also in other youtube pieces.... :S In the version of Russian (?) National Ballet I saw in real life they did point their heads very clear. What's the original choreography?

  • Amazing!!

  • That second girl is not in synch!

  • This was performed on my birthday!

    YEAH!

  • Just...perfect !

  • they're heads arent together... and their turn out is less than disired... this DEFINATELY isnt in Russia...

  • @ballerina0215 probably french ballet dancers LOLZ hehe

  • they're heads arent together... and their turn out is less than disired... this DEFINATELY isnt in Russia...

  • they're heads arent together...

  • dam,

At first glance it looks so plain but... when you actually pay attention to it..

The timing and each movement they perform , even the position of their heads and where they look is so precise...

Its one thing being able to perform the routine and another doing it in coordination with another 3 people.. fantastic body control!

  • my favourite ballet

  • That was AMAZING! I love ballet!

  • I have great respect for anyone that can do this :o

  • I don't think I could do that. You have to be in sinc with the other girls, if you're not, you'll be tripping over each other and stepping on each other's feet; which is not exactly graceful. ;)

  • Every time I watch this part it reminds me about the Soviet Coup Attempt in 1991.

At that time communist hardliners made an attempt to overthrow the president Gorbachev and end democratic reforms in Russia. They moved troops to Moscow, blocked the television and radio, so instead of showing the news they showed Swans Lake for the next three days over and over again. Suddenly troops turned against the hardliners and the coup failed

In Russia Swans Lake represents the end of communism.

  • this must've been an off night for them, but still wow they are amazing.

  • They make it look soo easy lol Wish I could dance like that ! So beautiful !

  • Oh I did this dance!

    Ow.

    It hurt.

Whoever thinks this is an easy dance: take it from me, this is one of the hardest in the ballet. I've dove about six acts in this, and this was the hardest. Durning practices, I kept runing into the girls next to me!

  • was that last movement supposed to be an attitude or an arabesque? i haven't done this in like 3-4 years......can't remember.

  • @jeannaegirl arabesque

  • @jeannaegirl in most of the swan lake ballets i have seen it's an arabesque. but in this one some of the dancers lifted legs were bent, so it could have meant to be an attitude

  • I'm dancing this myself in a few months, can't wait..Hope we can do it well enough to match the dancers on this video=)

  • @pervosienesi Your so lucky, I have to teach my self how to do all this threw books ._.

  • who ever thinks this dance is easy, obviously has never danced it before because from personal experience i know it is definitely one of the hardest dance out there mostly because you have to be perfectly together with everyone.

  • @koolgrl3 Not only that, but you probably have to make sure you don't run into anyone or kick each other.

  • I Failed Today Once I Learned It COuldnt Get The First Part Hehe LOL

  • I'm inlove with this! Pure bliss.

  • Easy peasy I can do that lol

  • @faithoffaith How very rude to say. Have you been classically trained like these dancers? They work hard to get these steps and timing right. The only reason it looks easy is because they make it look easy. That's how good they are, how hard they've trained.

  • I love this preformance. My dance teacher told me that this is one of the hardest ballet scene to do

  • It's amazing how they keep so in sync with each other! I wish I could dance like that!

  • @CandyHeart65 come on its not that difficult....i dance like that all the time.....i do spins ...glides...trots ....and all kinds of stuff likme that....they also too fat for balaih

  • ive always loved this ballet. and people, b4 u go all critical on these girls, have you ever tried it? we have a part in one of dances where we do the arm cross and its so hard. seriously, this is beautiful.

  • I'm not a dancer - never have been, but I think this is magnificent. Some girls from my daughters dance school performed this at the last concert and I was really blown away - and they are only 13 or so. It was really not bad considering they are far from professional like these women.

  • Gorgeous. Beautiful. Speechless <3

  • I s'pose it's hell of difficult work to get it to this stage. And still it's unsynchronized.

I imagine how it is supposed to look like - their hands, feet, heads, they should look symetric (except head turned always to same side). And they don't. One to the right is staying away the most.

I would pay really great money to see perfect performance live.

  • Look at that..isnt that perfect.!

  • Yeah the thing about this dance...you can't mess up or it's REALLY obvious lol...

  • magnificent! :)

  • their legs are mesmirizing and hypnotic!

  • wooah D: amazing, i was eatign something before it started and stopped mid-chew :D ahaha :] love it :]

  • Comment removed

  • I love this version because their feet are all in such perfect synchronization. Not an easy feat.

  • Ha ha, not an easy feet... =P

  • @CrocodileRocker I see what you did there! LOL

  • @CrocodileRocker lol wow, go in timeout

  • they make it look so easy!

  • Comment removed

  • O.O

  • This is one of my favorite ballets. Only a ballerina could perform a move to imitate such a graceful creature as the swan... beautifully and without breaking a sweat!

  • wow these girls are good...I learned this dance a month ago but I was only okay at it.

  • so light on their feet! it's crazy!

    yayyyY!!! oboe...=]

  • I can dance half of it!!!! my god!!!! they're so good!

  • wat the heck! thats amazing!!

  • This is one of the hardest dances I've ever done-impossible to be perfect. But they do a damn good job =]

Their echappes are perfect and so is the timing for the pas de chats!

  • it is hard to keep track of whose leg is whose but it is beautiful

  • omg that was so hypnotising liek all you could concentrate on was their legs and they done it perfect!

omg ballet is so...what's the word... it looks so...interesting.

I really want to learn it.

The most i can do is the first 5 positions and pique turns lol

  • Lovely overall, but I feel the heads could have been more in sync. At one point after the pas de chat it looked like they were struggling to keep in time with one another. I enjoyed it a lot, though :)

  • Those legs were....... terrible ~_~

  • On the contrary, the Japanese are the up and comping ballet dancers right now.

  • ow at times they look like they are landing on straight legs. But so clean!

  • i learned this in a summer intensive class, as well as the big swan variation . it was soo fast and so hard, it was crazy fast, everyone called it the nine mile marathon! (: i just did it , and im out of breath.

  • I love Little Swans :)

  • I'm not sure that it's necessary to have perfect synchronization and uniformity. In the Busby Berkeley dance routines there would be uniformity of movements and costumes, but it was obvious that he was allowing some individuality of style and height. Not so for the Rockettes; they are arranged in height and kick exactly alike.

I think professional ballerinas are amazing.

  • But there is a point the the Rockettes kicking exactly. They are a professional form of a highschool dance team. Their kick routines are highly regarded for being that uniform, and you couldn't physically have a kickline that looked nice if a short person was next to a tall person. It's very important for safety and uniformity that everyone kicks alike and that everyone matches nearly with the person next to them for height. It's really all a matter of safety! ^.^

  • Beautiful!

  • There is nothing wrong with criticising without having done something; I mean, do you need to be an actor to know how to tell bad acting from good acting? No, of course not. The same thing applies here.

  • We talk about critcism! Look at theater critics who cannot act; opera critics who cannot sing; ballet critics who never danced. Some people are determined to do better than the artists, and damned be the art.

  • Wow ! a ballerina.

  • It is a really hard dance so the fact that they managed it at all is impressive - it nearly kills me when I do it! They made it look effortless but I do wish they'd all go and eat a decent meal - they're far too thin! Men used to be able to lift Anna Pavlova and she was 10 stone at one point, so these girls can afford to gain a few pounds.

  • the holding hands part or the feet?

  • The feet usually! Once you've got hold of the next girl it's not too hard to hang on!

  • I agree!

I was 11 when I performed it. The holding hands is had at the beggigning but soon you get hold of it. the dance and the rythm is the "killer" part xD~

  • 11!!??!!

  • I learned this dance a long time ago but i'm still "learning" it and performing it. And you're so right the rhythm and dance is killer, when it's finally finished you can barely breathe

  • Really good! have you seen when Darsey teaches the young dancers in the royal ballet how to do it?? well that shows how hard it really is.

  • hey, it's way better than I could do. they really worked hard on this! it takes a long time to get that in sync with someone else -- don't ridicule them for their hard work!

  • thank you!

  • you freaking show off.even though you may seem better then them.you shouldnt critise them like that.they are professionals.doing what they love dammit.

  • If you can't even spell chasse, maybe you shouldn't be critiquing those who can. And what on earth is a par-de-sairs? Your ballet teacher has failed you miserably.

Since you can do better, please be so kind as to post the video. Dazzle us all.

  • OMG you ppl. if you were dancers you would accept this nicely you freaks!

These are called, CORRECTIONS, something that ever dancer needs, so all of those ppl that aren't dancers, you've never experienced what it's like, so don't insult me, your just a low life...

  • yeah, but for you to be saying these things you must be better than them, what I doubt. Kirov is the best ballet of the world!

  • NO,

    Are you a dancer?

If you were then even you would know that the best can muck up over time to time, and nobody's perfect.

And where di I say that I was better then them?

    Hmm?

AND Kirov isn't the best ballet COMPANY in the world.

  • Yes, I dance since 4 years old. As yourself said, nodoby's perfect. Can you imagine the nervosism and anxiety to face such strict audience?

And for you to be criticising them, you MUST do better then them. You only criticise if you can do better...

And, yeah, Kirov IS the best ballet of the world.

  • I've dance since Iw as two. I have in fact danced for many difficult critics, so I have been in that situation, so yes, I can in fact imagine what it would be like. I'm pretty sure that just because of a few simple corrections, it doesnt mean that I am the BEST, but yeah thanks, I'll definitely take that as nice compliment!

I've seen better ballets then this if this is the so-called "BEST".

  • Critisicm isn't reserved for those who can DO better. It's for those who KNOW better. You think half the people who critique these ballets in a professional setting can really do it? Men critique women's dancing, and teach women how to dance, but for the most part, they can't do it! It's all about who can see what needs improving, and if you've been trained in ballet for long enough, even if you aren't a magnificent dancer, you can still see the mistakes those magnificent dancers make.

  • I agree with you completely.

  • @danceteacher21 what a dumb comments, just to have consense. you're pathetic

  • @danceteacher21 You're right, I think I can do better (I play Swan lake (Iplayed the prince), but It's very amazing, even for me ! ;D

  • This is my favorite suite from the Swan Lake, since i saw live in Chalputepec, i was searching this beautifull and very dificult but estetic dance. BRAVO

  • I think it's childish it's soo adorable ^^

  • one wasnot getting her leg as high as the others, it was distracting, and 1 persons head was too stiff, i expected more from the bolshoi ballet

  • i ddi this dance for the talent show. my partner pretended that she was the baby swan and i was the mother swan

  • That was amazing job! They went great together. Swanlake is absolutely my favourite ballet.

  • Beautiful! I adore Tchaikovsky and especially Swan Lake which I saw in February at Covent Garden for the first time. Marianela Nunez and Thiago Soares were excellent in the title roles.

  • I´m too adore Tchaikovsky!

Have you got a scores for piano of Tchaikosvsky?

    Thanks you!

  • I have scores of the B flat minor concerto and The Seasons

  • Que bien que bailan!!!
