Judep22 you are quite right. BUT, the numbers you quote are for non-indexed linked annuities. Index linked are currently paying around 3.8%. So a £100k pension fund would only get you £3,800 a year. Just about enough to pay your Council Tax (25% of which goes directly to pay for the pensions of retired council workers), and utilities. God help you if you need to buy food...
