The problem was an unregulated power supply that was providing 20v to the camera. AS soon as I walked into shot the image got all wrecked then corrected itself as I walked away. Replaced it with a regulated power supply and all was good.
That is weird, cuz you can see it starts normal then "bztz" and a dark fuzzy form shows, you don't see someone approaching the camera. It's not until later that you can make out a "person's" head and face.
Just as the figure appeared on screen the camera's CCD sensor got all messed up and bled vertically to a point where you can't see pretty much anything. You can make out the fan & window etc. Just as the figure disappeared again the image cleared up again.
Even better - the framerate is 1fps becuase the camera is in "non-motion" mode. Whatever the figure was didn't even trigger the motion sensor, otherwise the framerate would have gone to 30fps.
or your camera is messed up?

Does it look like your room ?
Is your cam a wireless cam ? If so it could be someone else with a camera on the same frequency.
