  • I'll have to enlighten my Canadian buddies with this. Maybe introduce them to the age old tradition of a true South Afircan Braai this summer.

  • @TheBrightRedFox Amen. As soon as Summer hits British Columbia (coz let's face it, we're not exactly in Braai-friendly weather anymore) we're going to throw a lekker groot braai and enlighten some of my Canadian friends to proper culture

No more of this unmasculine "barbie" and "barbecuing." All pitifully scant imitations of the real legend! Anybody who even mentions the word "barbie" shalt be expunged.

  • mmmmm there is nothing like a good braai. im Australian but many of my friends are South African, and i will never pass up an offer to join them for some boerewors. Its funny because most australians think that we are some sort of king of the BBQ, but in reality we could learn alot from you guys.

just talking about this has made me hungry

  • I wonder where I can get Boerewors in the USA? I love to grill.

  • biltongusa, in North Carolina.

  • I'm a South African Girl who loves the Braai.

I don't know if I'm just a hiccup of nature or if I was raised a bietjie backwards.

When we came here my brothers got a full blast of American. I was lucky.

My dad taught me how to braai.

I also know how to hunt, shoot, shoot a bow and arrow *just for fun and laughs*, make a decent fire, chop firewood the right way, and other things.

I'd like a South African opinion on me.

If you'd be kind and put it on my comments.

  • Maybe I was raised wrong but I'm a South African girl who loves the Brie.

    My dad taught me.

My brothers got a full blast of American when we got here but I got off lucky.

Maybe I don't know my place.
