The music is really cool too, I agree. Of course the game's not perfect but it's much better than for example Blade of Darkness (which I loathed for being tooo difficult and repetetive).
I think Blade of Darkness is a great game, with the best freakin' melee combat system i've ever seen (i dont think anyone ever made something like that, conan goes in that direction)

what i didn't like was PAPER THIN story and no character development ... at ... all, i mean it had atmosphere, you felt lonely ... but you didnt even know who yxou are supposed to be , dialogue, nonexistant.
@Gioma771 actually not even Conan had the same awesome melee system. it would have been even better if AI was at modern standard, and the enemy variety was greater.
also it had an INCREDIBLE soundtrack

i think the reason why devs nowadays dont make the same combat sys is because they're trying to cater to a wide audience (easier to make, mostly hack n slashish with little weight feel or need for tactic, just mash that button and ocasionaly blovk and dodge, PCC - enemy interaction full of air.
This game really has its moments, there are levels where the developers created awesome atmosphere (my favorite is the temple where all those apes are handing out), and the graphics are quite advanced (for that time period of course).
this game brings back so many wonderful memories played it back in 2005 on my PC and it was just about the first video game I ever played (not counting Need for Speed a couple of years earlier) I really loved this Conan game, it actually hooked me to video gaming and I've never looked back, of course now after so many Gothics, Oblivions, Fables, Sufferings and other awesome games this one doesn't seem what it looked like back then, but it still is one of my favorites for good old times' sakes:-)
You see.... a little bit of good will and patience is all it needs... and when conan runs looks like he's having diarrea and can't find a bathroom... and he looks like a beatle.... still, MAYBE it's a decent game
One of my main problems with it is how Conan looks like he's having an allergic reaction, he just looks so swollen, not strong or muscley, just really, really swollen, like, unhealthy swollen. o_ô
And the supposedly "attractive" Zairin looks like an ugly old woman combined with a bulldog... so her design isn't exactly winning me over either.
Jumping is a nightmare in itself and needs more than mere words to describe how awfully implemented it is.
It's playable after all and even enjoyable at times...
The lava levels are pretty cool (as long as you don't have to jump over any lava!) and the jungle level had a very nice atmosphere that I liked. The ice level early in the game also had some nice features.
Yep before God Of War...and people want to call the latest Conan game a God Of War rip off...
