I think all mustangs are pony cars.. gt500 can almost be a muscle but its still a pony. Muscle car- a heavily modified drag race car. Pony car- a car that has some power, some handling, and has a good sporty look, mostly for the teenage tastes.. at least thats how i understand

@lcarrasco212 I don't want to argue, but when people say classic american muscle, don't they usually mean something around a 67' mustang, 69 GTO, 69 charger, 70 chevelle. Cars like those aren't really heavily modified drag cars. They were also a young guys car, or atleast the envy of young guys. Now when it comes to modern muscle cars, I'd have to call them pony cars too. Mainly because they lack the big blocks and brute like qualities. What you think?

@OneGuitarGuy I hear ya, but the point of the classic muscle car was to be an affordable quick car. By no means a heavily modified drag line. My dad had a 69' GTO with a bored out big block, did 1/4mile in the 10's, and was clocked by a highway patrolman at 175mph, and he didn't even have all 4barrels hooked up on the carb. My dad just did work on his engine, not on suspension, driveline, or anything else. What I'm trying to get at is your definition of muscle car, thats racecar not muscle.

Auto trader..is a secondairy source of info..to see what cars are going for in a certain location of the country..kelly blue book and local auctions are a better barometer..but the true number is depreciation anticipated by the bank and the lease payment subsequent of that see.when ur emotionally involved with a vehicle u dont care of any of that and thats why U can find Shelbys marked up 10k..Understand that if someone wants a Shelby they are going to pay whatever..that doesnt mean its worth it

Thats about 4 years on a car that sold for 45ish sticker. They are now at 48k-55k and in 2 years it will be low to mid 40s. Even in 4 years they will be 35k and up. @stevefromPA2 listen and learn...the only 2007 Selby500 gt that is going for $36k is one that has about 1,000 miles or gets its price changed when the owner sees someone like u coming. 4 year.American used performance with avg mileage for their year have the worst actual wholesale value..The last time i looked the depreciation of a mustang period..didnt matter if it was 6 or 8 cyl..delux or Gt..was 46% after 4 years..do the math,and thats not even including the fair market mark up at the dealer

If you look at the ones that are more than 1000miles, clearly they are going for more than 36k but not all. Its safe to say that they hold their value better than 46% after that 4 years.
