it comes with gold. Silver is free the first month but gold is mixed in with price of console, controller, game etc. SOOOO its just like paying for a gold membership just much easier than taking forever to fill out some stupid application. Well it may not be gold in some places but it is down here in Alabama. i HIGHLY recommend you get this because it is very very very nice. Good thing is since they are all mixed in together you don't have to buy them seperately at all these other stores. GOLD!

This is just a way for for them to get more and more of our money. First the $150 prestige Ed., then all the unneeded accessories and now a whole new console really. I will admit though it is a great value. If you break it down you are only paying $240 for the system and its 250GB HDD.

I dunno... a $299 ps3 or Elite is a much better value. (My opinion.) With the ps3 you get wi-fi installed, blueray, the network is free, and you can upgrade the HD anytime. If I had money to burn, I'd go for it. But I'd rather spend it on the deluxe edition of Warfare 2, the one with the night goggles.
