  • Awesome video, thank you so much. I'm new to diaphragm calls and this helped a lot!

  • You are too cute, and I just got that caller today

  • good job

  • nice video! this is one of better videos out there with a good gobble sound! i have been using a little different method and am looking for diff ways all the time. i hunt in Ohio just across the river from maysville ky. . cant wait to try during season!!!!!

  • PLEAZZZ DO THE CROW CALL PLEAZZZZ I REALLY WANT TO LEARN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • very awsome gobble. do u go to church

  • @jaybass97 Yes....i enjoy church very much!

  • Thanks man. You're right. Until you're video, I'd never seen gobbling with a mouth call explained very well. I live and hunt Easterns in Vermont. I'm thinking of trying it, but it's all dependent on who's around. Don't want to get my head shot off. Good Vid. Yes, do the Crow Call Vid with the mouth call. Thanks.

  • great Informative video!

  • dont think youve been turkey too much!!!!! haha need to get down the basic cutt and clucks before trying to gobble with a mouth call.

  • @WILLIAMDTHOMPSON1 LOL.....well what I do works very well for me. Maybe you should post some how to vids for me and then I could learn from you!

  • ok, seriously, ive looked everywhere and have been trying for forever to get the crow call out of a diaphram, if you have time, please try to do a video on crow calling with a mouth cal.l please

  • @TimmyS911 I will try to do a video on "CROW CALL ON A TURKEY DIAPHRAGM" soon!

  • you say when you have the call in your mouth you should have your tongue at the very tip of the call right? so when i have it in my mouth would i put it in as usual? Or should i have my tongue relaxed and the call more toward the front of my mouth?

  • @deerslaya82 Put it in just the way you normally would. Make a harsh and fast exhale....keep your tongue stiff so you can better control the fast rhythm. If you don't really blow like your trying to tear the call apart, your probably not blowing hard enough.

  • I was told you were supposed to roll your R's and i can roll my r's very well but could never do it in a call.. I'll try this tomorrow see if it works. Thanks for the tip! I live up in western Wisconsin and hunt eastern turkeys mostly. we generally use pot calls for the different pitch and style of the noise opposed to box calls. This spring will be my first bow hunt for turkey and my first time calling on my own. trying to get as many tips as i can before season. It's coming quick!

  • @TheTurkeyhunter13 Well good luck! Hope you knock the big one down.

  • Comment removed

  • @turkeykilla1977 Thanks...I did. But a gobble call isn't a mouth call. This video is to show someone how to gobble on a diaphragm.

  • nice very nice!

  • i'm trying but i can't get it

  • how did you do the second call that the hen makes could you do a video on how to do that one?? It would greatly appreciated

  • Thanks this is the best way I've ever seen!

  • @danishconsumer Thanks man.

  • Turkey season comes in let me know. I've got a couple 1000 acres to hunt.

  • @bigwhitee Sweet! I just might do that!

  • You can see my recomendation on Questions and Tips for Bowhunters: Gobbling with a diaphragm trey8047. Tell me how i did im new to this.

  • Hey man i gladly made a video recomending that my viewers watch your video on gobbling with a mouth call. You taught me and i thank you for it. Your the first person i recomend wen it comes to turkey calls. Again i gladly sent my viewers to you and i just started makin videos so hopefully my viewers that come to you will be as satasfied as i was Thank You.

  • @trey8047 Hey man, thanks! Just trying to help somebody be a better hunter!

  • @knmrussell No problem!

  • Awesome vid. If a call comes without a cut in the reed should you cut it or just leave it alone?

  • @playdoh175 Calls don't really need notches to sound good. I've actually ripped one of the reeds that was notched off of a three reed call and it sounds great. It was torn after a lot of abuse so I just ripped it off. The call sounds just as good as it did before I ripped it off. :o)

You can try to notch your call, but it might ruin it. But if your like me, experimenting is fun!

  • awesome video man im goin to have to go out and try this 2morrow

  • i have a question. mine is i higher pitch how can I lower it? Thanks

  • @natedawgw1986 Sorry to say, but you will probably need a new call. I don't know of any ways to lower the pitch of a call.

  • @knmrussell To lower it is put as little tounge pressure on the call you can but put enough to make the sound and make it sound good. But i have to agree i would just get a new call. This really does work and im sure u will be successful int the field. What i do is have a variety of mouth calls well i did but there ruined i had lik 10 different calls. I believe a mouth call is the only call you need in the woods. Good Luck.

  • @knmrussell do you have any recomendations for a deeper call?

  • @natedawgw1986 Well....not really. But most of the "old raspy hen" types work well. And you can put less pressure on the call and that helps. Read on the back of the package and it will probably say something about the pitch.

  • @knmrussell alright thanks a lot!

  • It makes my mouth tickle...lol

  • Fantastic video thxs I also made my first fan it took me 4 hrs and that included going to store and painting wood

  • @kenparnell1 Awesome! I couldn't believe how easy it was either and as far as I know I'm the first one to do it.

  • This helped so much, I'm real glad I found this man. An I'm from Northeast PA, Susquehanna County.

  • @mattmecca37 I'm glad this helped!

  • i keep moving my tongue to fast and it sounds dumb and doesnt sound like a gobble what is wrong?????

  • @calemhopkins You may be vibrating your tongue instead of moving it. Your jaw needs to move up and down ever so slightly.

  • @knmrussell Thanks for telling me i thought that you vibrate your tounge. I am 15 and i just started trying to mouth call and its a challenge and i keep practicing every day and i hope i can learn to gobble sometime soon. Thanks for the help

  • @knmrussell Srry i misunderstood the vid and i thought you vibrate your tounge. Im 15 and i just started using mouth calls so i might take a while for me to learn ive only been using them for 1 month. Thanks for the advice and ill keep practicing

  • @calemhopkins Well I'm sure you'll get it! It does take practice, but you can do it.

  • i just cant really use a mouth call i mean it sounds like a hen sometimes when i yelp but i cant get it to stay good i dont know what im doin wrong can someone help me out

  • Argillite what!

  • @bigwhitee I've looked for land to hunt in Argillite! haha Have a lot of family around there.

  • @evilmule Breathing strictly out. Exhaling for the duration of the gobble.

  • I was just callin this mornin. And I discovered how to do this. Really easy. I use a Cane Cutter(Cane Creek call) It sounds even better than this one.

  • @morganfinley3 Cool!

  • helpped me a ton good video!!

  • @natedawgw1986 Great!

  • i hunt in grayson KY to an this Tip Really works great:) god bless you and best of luck....great video!!

  • @jna04 Hey, thanks!

  • @knmrussell ive seen multiple nice gobblers but havent been close enough to put a shot on him yet....

  • sweet video i literally just turkey hunted for the first time this morning and i cant wait to learn how to call

  • I cant bounce my tounge with it in my mouth. how do i do it?

  • hey man, im from central kentucky as well, and thats where i do my turkey huntin

  • hey man, im from central kentucky as well, and thats where i do my turkey hunting

  • awesome

  • impresive!

  • It sounds great

  • Nice video

  • THanks so much

  • @16jriel Your welcome

  • @kbollhunt2010 Yeah, Primos seem to work best because they are a little stiffer. I'm headed out this weekend!

  • thats really easy and i have only been doin it 4 a week how long have u been doin it

  • @1bubbu I picked it up by myself after about 2 minutes. Just lucky I guess! :o) I tried a couple of things and then....BINGO!

  • @kbollhunt2010 which state you in?

  • @ZamaSoldier I'm in the best state! KENTUCKY!!!!!!! :o)

  • i just dont seem to be able to get this down any ideas?

  • @crazyrhyno21 Well....you might try reading other comments. I've racked my brain. :o)

  • by the time u breath the second time they will be gone because your too loud at building up your air.

  • @maalketh34 You shouldn't have to gobble twice in a row.

  • @knmrussell Some times you have to take a break to though. Because you will have a tom that is pissed off.

  • I dont understand how to make your tounge hit that fast?

  • @gokufighter21 Say 'dud' really fast.....then change to 'duh.' It may take some practice.

  • WOW

  • what kind of call is that?

  • I found out myself that if you use a mouth call and you shake your head side to side fast your cheeks will make a gobble sound that sounds great! And its supper easy!

  • @MrFordguy67 Cool!

  • does it half to be a diaphragm because i only have the moth turkey caller.

  • @wisginseng Haven't tried it on one of those. If you send me one I will! lol

  • thanks i tried for ever with this and just got it thanks to you have a good huntin season

  • @2408Nelson Awesome!

  • you are insane its so hard to do im sitting here trying to do this and i just cant master it

  • @DuzickMan Keep trying. You'll get it down.

  • wow very nice! I'm taking my 11 yr old daughter on her first hunt in KS in 2 weeks and this gives me more ammo! Thank you for posting this.

  • @BigMark1963 Your welcome BigMark! Hope you have a great time with your daughter. My daughter is only 5 and I'm itching to take her! lol

  • @evilmule Good luck bud!

  • You too, you deserve it.

  • our hunting season is right around the corner and i cant wait to see and if this works thanks

  • I watched your video and learned to gobble really quickly. I can now add this to my calling arsenal.

I hunt in Allamakee co Iowa

  • @melsha2930 That's awesome! Hope you get the big boy in a few weeks!

  • thanks man i finally learnt how to do it and im only 13

  • @bigman19981 Awesome dude!

  • Me and my dad hunt in breck co kentucky!!!!

  • @LSUJUNGLEKITTY Nothing like hunting in Kentucky!

  • Could you explain how to do the excited yelp you were doing in this video? I am new to calling. I generally just scout really hard and ambush my birds and that has worked for me, but I would like to get much better at calling.

  • @IndianaNature Sure! Pick a word (chalk, chip, chock) something with 2 syllables, and say it really slow while exhaling on the call. Then speed it up and and cut the words off. You should have this down pretty fast. Start with a normal yelp speed, then speed it up really fast, and then slow it back down to normal. It should sound as if the hen gets excited over hearing her own voice. You should experiment with firm and light preasure on the call for different sounds.

  • @knmrussell You give one syllable examples and tell me to pick a 2 syllable word....lol

  • @IndianaNature :o) Can't you see the humor!?! lol

  • Thank God for youtube

  • @billybob1821 I take it that you can now gobble!?!?! Hope so!

  • this is the best turkey calling video on youtube. i watched this video and practiced for about a week and opening day killed a gobbler. took my grandpop out the next day and called for him and killed another gobbler. then after that took my grandpops friend and called for him and he killed one. turkeys love that excitied call. im still trying to improve my gobble. i hunt southern new jersey and these calling tips work up here

  • @buckboy121 Awesome! Nothing like getting the big one! Glad this helped.

  • hey u do good at turkey calling i hope you get one the next time you go hunting and i hunt in missouri so i no how the turkeys act thanks for the tips

  • @nutinbuthuntin Thanks! Hope we all get one!

  • lol u hunt n grayson i live in grayson where i live theres turkys all the time so i think imma try turky huntin sometime soon

  • @ryker821 You definitely need to try it out!

  • @ryker821 Well you just might see me out there! :O)

  • Thanks for the info. I am new to turkey hunting but I am looking very forward to this spring. I am very excited to begin calling or rather trying to call. Any tips for a novice turkey hunter? I only hunt with a bow and live in Georgia. Thanks again and I look forward to more videos. Have a good one.

  • @bwteim8691 Well....I guess we could start with shadows. NO turkey will come close if you breath or move a hair. Set in the shadows and use good camo that blends in. If you deer hunt, throw everything out the window. a turkey won't smell you but can hear and see phenomenal! Be ready BEFORE he gets to you so you won't have to move when he gets there. Also, turkeys will NOT cross a fence or ditch...I know, weird.

  • do yo have to do the dadadadada sound really fast or wat

  • @littlekofi601 Yes. You have to make that "movement" as you exhale. Not necessarily the "da" sound, but the movement of the tongue. You don't actually say dadadada, but mimic the motion with the diaphragm in your mouth and exhale.

  • for the crow call, do you the call around and suck on it?

  • @TimmyS911 No, just blow really hard and let the air escape just one side of your mouth. It's a more advanced call, not something for everyone. I'm not saying you won't get it tho. It takes some adjusting. The reeds really don't jump or move...just blow the air out hard while letting the air go over one side of your tongue. Hope ya get it!

  • this is an imbarrasing question, but does the cut out part of the latex face up or down in your mouth

  • @ecollins92 If your call has multiple reeds, then the smallest reed goes on the BOTTOM touching your tongue. Small on the bottom, then bigger on top of that etc.. The biggest reed will be on the roof of your mouth. The wind you blow out of your mouth will hit all the reeds from the bottom of the call.

If you reverse the call, it will only hit the biggest reed because the other one's are covered up! :o)

  • @knmrussell yea thts how ive been doing it, but then i seconded guesed myself and it got me all messed up, any way thanks

o and i watched tht other video and tht plack looks really nice

  • @ecollins92 Thanks! Just keep practicing and I'm sure you'll get it!

  • @knmrussell thanks man

  • How would you "trim" the sides? If you can.

  • @Mold30 You can just cut the sides with scissors to offer a better fit. Caution: cut off small pieces at a time...you can't glue it back on! lol But of course you can't trim the reeds or the plastic or metal piece that holds them.

But just cut the sides about 1/16 to and 1/8 inch at a time. Make sure you follow the original curvature of the call. They are shaped that way to offer the best sound. If the call needs to be trimmed off a lot, you might try a mini series call for a better fit.

  • @knmrussell Thanks

  • very nice

  • Thanks for the great video! I'm hunting next weekend up in West Central Wisconsin. I have that exact same call. God Bless and good luck

  • @Super64heavy Good luck! But better yet, God bless!

  • I cant get it!!!lol

  • how do u store them away wen your done using them?

  • @proskater56 I usually put something between the reeds, like little toothpicks or something to let them dry. After they dry, you can just put them in a safe dry place, away from sun. That's it! When the reeds start to turn yellowish, it's time to replace them...usually after I hunt spring and fall I replace mine.

  • NIce vid.

  • Man I hunt in Fleming Co. Pretty Close. I loved the CLip, cant gobble yet but workin hard at it. going to try your tips thanks. Just got my first gobbler ever, my calls are better thatn I thought but I want to learn that Gobble, gotta get it!!!

  • @JRUDY0002 Hey dude! We are pretty close. Congrats on your first turkey! Good luck getting that other tag filled!

  • thanks

  • Great advice. Will be using this tactic for sure! I'm up here in Southern Ont, Can. Our gobblers sure react to a gobble when there hung up. Last year, had a 24 lb'r hung up about 75 yds. Thru everything I had at him and he just struted for about 20 min. A gobble behind me, and that big old tom was within 20 yrd in about 10 sec. 870 roared, down he went. 32" fan, 10.5" beard,1-1/8" spur hangin' on the wall. And to top it off, It was my fist bird. How cool is that? Our season starts in 4 days.

  • @renrider82 Awesome! It does work when other calls don't. If a gobbler has hens with him and you can get in close, then that is a great time to use this tactic. He wants to protect his turf!

  • Im 16 and I hunt in Calloway county Ky I have limited out this year in TN and KY. Im pretty good with a diaphragm been using one pretty much since I could talk and i can do just about anything but gobble. I would love to learn how because I have used the shakers that you talked about in the video and have had some success with it. Any other tips besides just practicin what you said on the video?

  • @shooterjennings1 Hey man! Well, the only thing I can tell ya is to maybe read the comments below... I really don't know what else to say. You should maybe invest in the "triple V cut" by Primos. 5 bucks at Wal-Mart. It produces a lower sound which helps. Maybe you should do a video on all the different calls you know! I'm sure everyone would enjoy it!

  • @shooterjennings1 yeah, maybe you could do a vid teaching everyone how to do a good call with a litte D between the T?

  • Well, I bagged my turkey! Bad news is that I couldn't get the video footage. I had to stalk it and it was just too hard for me to do that and run the camera. But I'll try to get a picture for ya. 22 1/2 pounds, 10" beard, 7/8" spurs. He was big.

  • I'll be going hunting this weekend....I'll try to get some footage of my hunt. Good luck to all who are getting ready! I'm fired up!

  • How far back is the call suposed to be in your mouth when doing the gobble?

  • @dualbit13 Place the call towards the front, about right were the roof of your mouth drops down. Your tongue should vibrate right were the roof of your mouth makes a sharp turn upward.

  • i cant do the hen it to hard

  • @MrBoombros Keep practicing. Hen talk is very important.

  • thanks man this is real helpfull i am still having trouble with the gobble and the exited hen

  • @tyman967 Thanks. Just keep practicing and I'm sure you'll get it.

  • that sounds real good, it sucks for me though becauce i got some crazy braces and it realy limits my mouth call abilities

  • @ecollins92 Thanks. I'll bet braces do limit you. Never had them...don't want them!

  • @knmrussell yea it sucks pretty bad i can dominate tht slate though

  • how do you do it well without tickling your tongue really bad?

  • It sounds like you may be "holding" your tongue to the diaphragm. Try bouncing your tongue on and off. Or if that's not it then maybe the reed in your diaphragm isn't tight anymore.

  • Ok...I can do the excited hen but not the gobble.....any other tips???? Thanx

  • The excited hen is most important! So congrats!

But gobbling on a diaphragm is fun! It may be the diaphragm your using. If it's too high pitched, get an "old hen" or deeper sounding call. A stiff call helps too because blowing hard causes the diaphragm to flatten against the roof of your mouth which is no good.

  • Awesome this really works!!!!!!! They cam running right up to me!!!!!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!! Super easy!!!!!

  • Cool! I'm glad this helped!!!!!!!!

  • Great job, that is pretty awesome!

  • Thanks a lot.

  • THIS SEEMS TO WORK BETTER ON A STIFF DIAPHRAGM. Try a triple reed by "Primos". I've noticed that "HS Strutt" calls are a little flimsy. Also blow HARD! It should empty your lungs.

  • very good vid thanks

  • very nice. i been gearin up for turkey season and its nice to have somethin like this in the arsenal. haha. my gobble with the mouth call still dont sound quite right. any advice?

  • very nice. i been gearin up for turkey season and its nice to have somethin like this in the arsenal. haha. my gobble with the mouth call still dont sound quite right. any advice?

  • Well, I did find out that It sounds better with MORE reeds. A stiffer diaphragm works best. And if your doing it right it will empty your lungs. LOL It's quite the challenge on your lungs. Blow hard.
