This is wonderful, but really. The reason the Minmay-version carries more power is because the bassline is SO much stronger and linked to the vocals. This version was made by someone who didn't understand the magic of the original bassline :) Thumbs up if you want a remake in the right chords ^^

SUPERB! an upgraded version of the original one! when i heard the original one, i thought nice song but it really needs a better vocalist, someone with more "special" voice. iijima's voice was pretty good but just too plain compared to this. nakajima's voice is especially sweet and soothing,,, angelic, that's the word!!!

This is some of the nicest/best mix of 3drendering mixed in with classic cel shading/coloring I've seen in quite some time. Usually when you mix 3d and 2d together its awkward to say the least. That, or the 3d will look good but the anoimation will be really choppy, slow and/or not dynamic. This however, looks and feels like classic Macross. Helps that they painted the maps (least that's what it looks like to me) that they apploed to the models.

I like this version a lot better than the original.

But that's just prolly me being bias since I heard this version first before the original one.

But there's no doubt that the first one was good as well. Coz in the ears of many, they believe the original is still the best.

But for me, I love Megumi-chwan's version better. :'3 ♥

I personally thought that Macross Frontier was a big disappointment, it's like they tried to shove 52 episodes worth of story into 25 episodes and you can definitely see it. I will however agree with you, Nakajima Megumi has a very beautiful voice, and the songs of Macross Frontier were great. I really did love the music in the anime, too bad they had to have such a lame rushed story.

I would agree, but I think that it's unfair to say one is better than the other because both are aiming for different moods. Mari Iijima's version is more cheerful, while Megumi's version sounds more distressed. Both were sung very well and will always have a spot on my mp3 player.

Da old version would be from the SDF1 Macross timeline, that is when the Macross actually first appeared on Earth. The movie was made in 1984, I think.
