How to Compress Your Video For Youtube!

Windows Live Movie Maker on my Windows 7 computer doesn't seem to recognize AVI files, just WMV, so I have to use a 3rd-party program (Any Video Converter) to convert it to a WMV file first. Will the WMV file need to be compressed further before uploading it?

(BTW, I'm OK with how your voice sounded when you posted this in 2007. My youngest is about the same age that you are now (17), and she's the one teaching me how to create YouTube videos!)

Actually, a wmv file is usually bigger than an avi file. It depends what codec you used to compress the video. If you used a crappy one, or no compression at all, then yes, it will be a massive file.

I created an account in 2006 and back then you had to sign up for a director account and after that you were able to upload videos over 10 minutes long. Now, they limit your time no matter what account you have now because anyone can switch account types. But I get to still upload videos over 10 minutes long and my upload limit is a 1 GB.

if that happens you can try the other way to upload movies, just go to upload, fill in the form, then clik next, you should now get the uploader, before you click browse, click Are you having problems with uploader, then upload like that!!
