  • "they" cut off the most interesting verses of the song.

  • Hmm...i prefer Bruce.

  • This song always gives me goose flesh. Blaze's vocals are a little grainy here, but to be fair I've seen him live and I know he can pull this off better. I'd still kill to sound as fucking tight and powerful as this line-up is here \m/

  • Blaze voice is very tired here, propably from singing the classic Maiden songs that were way out of his natural register.

  • I remember when I saw Iron Maiden live in 1995 during their X Factour tour, the guy who stood out the most of me on stage was Janick.

  • Is this their 'Croix de guerre'? Have they taken it away from my Father without giving any thanks or respect to Him? The they are dead men!

  • Blaze sings Blaze the best.

  • the bruce version is bad . becuase they play it WAY to fast and u cant really feel the vocals

  • rigid , clown , and bad actor

  • rigid

  • @separiraja

Not everyone is talented, and not every talented one has the charisma. Am i wrong anywhere? :) Still Paul, Bruce and Blaze eras containt different styles, and they seem to create such wonderful history of Iron Maiden's. It wouldn't be amazing if there were all players from the beggining to the and all the time.

  • I like all albums with Blaze!

  • I think that the albums done during "the Blaze era" are a breath of fresh air and i love all of them, but one thing that Bruce does better is live performances. He knows how to work the crowd, while Blaze seems to stand in one spot. I respect both of them for what they've done.

  • Esse Blaze eh uma bosta como frontman...ainda bem que ja era..

  • Unfortunately all IM Blaze's CD were almost forgot....Bravo Blaze well done.

  • in thats time MTV show music :D

  • I love the xfactor album! It is truely different from maiden's past albums...Catchy riffs fantastic solos..memorable lyrics...all great! Thats the beauty of Maiden's songs no matter who the singer is! Blaze Bruce n Paul are just great!

  • i love this song, maybe, IMO, the best songs in the blaze era were sign of the cross, futureal, man on the edge, virus, lord of the flies and were two worlds collide

  • Einer der geilsten Songs von Maiden ! - und einer der besten Sänger überhaupt !!

  • No true Iron Maiden fan would ever compare, and in essence disrespect, Blaze and Bruce and say one was better than the other when it comes to singing this song or another in which there have been exchanges. This song was suited for Blaze and he delivered it well in the studio and live. Up the Irons!

  • Replacing Bruce Dickinson is always going to be a dramatic change. Just like the dramatic change when Bruce replaced Paul Di'Anno

There'd be no reason to expect an imitator to replace Bruce because no one could take his position and imitate him without looking ridiculous. Can you imagine if Bruce had tried to be more like Di'Anno?

Bruce is BRUCE. Blaze is BLAZE.

Kudos to Blaze for having the balls to replace Bruce, especially at that stage of Maiden's career!

  • @super3hooligan Good luck with that... :)

  • This album is one of the bests of Maiden!

  • the best iron maiden song ever when its done live. the album release is too slow. and blaze cant sing it compared to bruce. check the version of bruce singing it at rock in rio. miles better.

  • @24samw I agree with Bruce this is one of the best live song you could hear , blaze not so much

  • One thing's always bothered me about this song. Live, they play it at a proper tempo. The studio version is WAY too goddamn slow.

  • blaze best singer that joined maiden END OF yes i said it if you dnt like it fuck off

  • @666RiffsOfDeth666

i wish blaze was still in maiden

  • OMG, I would be buying Maiden stocks in NYC!!!.......Blaze forever!!!

  • Blaze and Bruce both sang this song well at the end of the day. Simples.

  • fuck you dislikers, when Bruce joined Iron Maiden in 1981, he didn't fit to the Paul Di'anno's songs. It's the same when Blaze joined, he didn't fit to Bruce's songs. It takes time to use to something, so that's why the third Iron Maiden album with Blaze would be so awesome. I'm not saying Bruce sucks, just that both of them are the best singers in their own styles!

  • im getting sick and tired of you people saying bad stuff about blaze. OK maybe he has the least known songs from his era and all that, but he is still good. its tough to be in maiden band after Paul and Bruce, because they are awsome. In my opinion you can't actually compare these 3 vocalist, because they are sooo diffrent in many ways. I prefer Paul over Bruce and Bruce over Blaze. I still love Blaze though. And credits for this goes to Steve who adopted his songwriting to vocalist.

  • Blaze is like a rapper who failed.

  • That face at 2:24

Holy shit I am laughing hard. His bouncing makes it even more funny.

  • Iron Maiden is not the same with Blaze.

Whe sings like he's dying, stoped e allways trying to make a deeper voice to look satanic.it's ridiculous.

Bruce sings with passion, he never sacrifice a good live performance just to sell a face of "bad boy from hell".

If you like Blaze, fine, just stop crying because he's not in Iron Maiden, and because the rest of the world knows that Bruce is better.

  • @JPOTB2010 I like Blaze but I think Bruce is better, even for this song.

  • lol blaze is fat

  • @10078g your fat

  • i love sign of the cross, i listen to it bmxing, of course the rock in rio version :P i find the blaze verison is alittle to slow, the tempo for rock in rio is awsome

  • Gorn it Steve. How could you hire this guy??????!!!

  • bruce sings that song much better in my opinion

  • cant even hit the notes, wtf

on the albums he sounds great (blaze), but live he suck

  • amazing voice - but what a loser

  • All of maidens singers have been amazing, Blaze was also a great songwriter.

Bruce is awesome, blaze is awesome. The only difference is that Blaze look a bit silly (in a cool way) on stage :)

  • The problem with Blaze is that he tried to sing everything from chest. That, and probably strain from heavy touring, is why he can't reach the high notes on the chorus.

X Factor is a great album nonetheless. This song is one of my alltime Maiden favorites.

  • Blaze is amazing. His albums with Maiden will never be equaled. One of the truly dark, fascinatingly evil sounding rock vocalists of all time, is Blaze.

  • MTV??? WTF???!!!

  • blaze sings better than bruce

    thats my opinion

and im not the only one who thinks that way

  • @Milo11103 yea you are not alone. most probably you are one of that 6 people in the whole wide world who still belive that :)

  • @Milo11103 Yep, I'm really OK with that, I thought I was the only to think that !!!

My favorites Iron Maiden singers: first: Paul Di'Anno, second: Blaze Bayley, and last: Bruce Dickinson.

Sorry for integrist fans but Dickinson is not so great and never replace Di'Anno, and Bayley is singing, not "screaming" like Dickinson...

(sorry for my english, I'm french...)

  • @Milo11103 you can't be serious....bruce is one of the greatest singers of all time....and thats the reality....

  • What a song! ♥♥

  • Bruce's version is good, but i like Blaze's version even more, 'cause it's dark and sad, and blaze make it to what it should be like. Bruce makes it to happy bu jumping around.

  • @thekiller666ish Plus he cream the song with fucking Vibrato, ugh

  • Actually people think Bruce is a better singer because, well, he can SING

  • @ralphc68

People don't understand what singing is. Both of them can sing, they have different voices, but they can sing! These allbums were made for Blaze's voices, just like TNOTB was made for Burce's voice

  • @ralphc68

Bruce is better in my opinion, but Blaze is amazing too

The X Factor is their 2nd best album, and Blazaes voice is one of the reasons why it is

  • Bruce is the Iron, Blaze is the Wood... so IRON KICKS WOOD DUDE!!!

  • para mi hay canciones de blaze ke no se le oyen bien a bruce eso si ke blaze es una mierda para cantar no hay ke dudarlo pero sus canciones son buenisimas y sea como sea es Maiden Up the Irons ...

  • @me12jun That Right:D

  • Apart from 'Brave New World', the current incarnation if Iron Maiden hasn't released anything of interest. I used to hate the albums w. Blaze, but there are some fantastic songs on them, like this for instance. 80's Iron Maiden w. Bruce and Paul Di'Anno era are the best of course. 'A Matter Of Life And Death' is Iron Maiden's worst album perhaps, closely followed by 'Dance Of Death'.

  • @SilverTounge85

a matter of life and death is amazing, besides the "big 3" for me (powerslave, seventh son and somewhere in time) a matter of life and death is my favorite.

  • @SilverTounge85 if we follow your logic, in ten years you'll finally discover that the three last albums are materpieces

  • @mattcyrano Nah! Mediocre compared to 'Brave New World' and all previous releases. Not saying you should follow my opinion....that's all it is. ;)

  • blaze rules,

  • o que isso tem haver?

  • well I like Blaze so much, but sincerely I prefer Bruce...he has something special, don't know how to explain...

  • Comment removed

  • I agree. He should be thought of as less because Bruce has a much bigger, better voice, which is perfect for Iron Maiden.

  • I don't understand how people can say that Bruce is better than Blaze based on the fact that Bruce is more energetic and moves around a lot. I have never once felt that any of the songs from the Blaze era need to have the singer moving around like Bruce's songs. The music is different, its darker. Its not a "happy, energetic, high pitch" type like the songs before Blaze.

I'm not saying that either is better than the other, just that Blaze shouldn't be thought less of based on how much he moves.

  • concordo completamente!

  • @canxer Because blaza can't sing many songs, and couldn't keep up the tour

  • @canxer you knowe... i dont give a shit if he moves around or standing still. But dude!? You have heard the records? eaven on the cd's blaze just cant sing ; O its a fact man!

  • @canxer Blaze sounded great on his albums but sang Bruce and Pauls era like shit .. He disgraced the Trooper . Bruce is way better of a singer and entertainer and Pilot

  • @canxer Blaze is a great singer I agree, but Bruce is a better vocalist. Not because he moves around a lot but just because he is better. Still, Blaze did a damn good job with Maiden.

  • @canxer I simply say (with respect of your opinion).. Bruce got a great voice, Blaze don't

  • @canxer

You´re right! I love Blaze. Its very hard for us to compare them... Bruce makes Fear of the dark to a all time classic song. Blaze makes you fear listening this song in the dark without presenting its to the masses. so what?

  • @canxer Bruce doesn't even move around alot for this song :')

    both singers kick ass!! XD

  • @canxer i agree in fact for my self blaze is better

  • @canxer

I agree and you you know something ..... the last two albums from maiden just before bruce left were TERRIBLE. then blaze came along and at least his two albums were much better. I think bruce was amazing , but his voice went after the 80's. they should have kept blaze and did as many epics with him as they could have. He has a great voice and did a fantastic job on the virtual 11 album. he is way underrated and its mainly due to him not being there first.

  • @ziggy5020 Fanservice, a lot of maiden fans are among the most retarded persons in the heavy metal community, both Blaze era albums and most of the liveshow are considered shit by the aforementioned assholes, while they probably represent the creativity peak of Iron Maiden.

  • @ziggy5020 X factor wasn't too awful and Futureal was cool off of Virtual XI. But you have to admit, Angel and the Gambler was one of the worst songs they ever stuck on an album. Might have been a bit better had they not stuck that stupid keyboard on there. It was kind of weird seeing Maiden with Blaze in a 1000 capacity venue and they didn't even sell it out (go figure, it's St. Louis) He's not that bad but I just couldn't take hearing Wrathchild with him

  • OMG Once again Blaze totally butchers a song live by singing completely out of key and false as hell. Pity, cause on the album version he is awesome :(

  • i like bruce's live stuff better than blaze's live performances. bruce shows so much emotion and moves around alot, really energetic.

  • Blaze is fucking awesome on this kind of songs. Deep songs, this maiden era songs.

    é a minha opinião

e eu acho que The X Factor é o melhor album deles a seguir a Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

  • Bruce kills the strength of this song. His yelling becomes annoying! Like he does with every song from the Blaze-era. These gems need Blaze on vocals!

  • I think both versions are great.

  • hehe! this was after I was born ^.^ one of the best songs

    UP THE IRONS!!

  • Blaze is cool, but the way he holds his mic is not.

  • Sorry Everyone but the most important god of maiden is probably Janick. He knows how to rock.

  • Janick is really underrated! Fucking awesome dude! I don't get it why so many people call him a douche and want him out. He wrote some of the best songs when the band became a six piece like The Legacy and Dance of Death

  • totally. the way he performs on stage is fun to watch and is interesting. His dances while playing: priceless. Not a lot of guitarists are like him.

  • Janick is great. Great song writer. Live energy is incredible.

  • UP THE IRONS FROM HUNGARY

  • blaze is nice... but dickinson is a god!!!!

  • A fire in the sky, the sign of the cross....

.... Windmill Windmill for the Land, Heart to Heart and hand in hand....... sad it got shot down.......by?

  • blaze roox

  • UP THE IRONS

Su tutti Tenth Dimension, The man who would not die e il Live del 2003.

    Up the Irons

  • talk about serious face

  • I love this song!!

Well Blaze have sung this much better but I think he ahd some sort of allergic reaction or something at tj´his show.

    Up the fucking Irons!!

  • Where did you get this? Can you get more?

  • THE best Maiden song of all time.

  • 10000000% agreed! HELL YEAH! \m/

  • @JohanSvensson1989 ONE of the best! :-)

  • @JohanSvensson1989 No, Ancient mariner

  • @JohanSvensson1989 I agree...shite...by far...

  • I agree..by far...and I love Bruce, but Blaze gave Maiden something that B1 never could...darkness we all loved!!!...
