Simply The Greatest Singer of the 20th Century, Without Ray Charles we wouldn't have had any of it, "Rhythm and Blues" "Rock 'n' Roll" "Soul". All the other artists from the mid fifties onwards were influenced by Ray Charles. Music without Ray Charles is unthinkable to me, I wouldn't know what a "Soul" was, if it wasn't for him. This is my favorite song by Ray. It doesn't seem to be as mainstream as some of his other songs but to me it has more emotion and soul than any other song he created.

At the time he recorded it, Ray was compared to Johnny Ray.  Each had their own way. Since I was more of an R&B fan then, I liked RC's version better. As I have aged, both have different, but good, renditions. Both are definitely emotional. Guys do that sometimes. LOLOLOL.
