When I listen to this,it makes me want to appreciate my lady for all she is.........perfect.Why don't people make music like this any more.I guess they were just too cool for this world.Cool cats.Music of this era soothed the savage beast. All I can say is...........Yeaaaaah baby.
The human raced is blessed every once in a while with colossuses such as Ray Charles. He has been a measuring instrument of the art of music, and as many have said here, it will be well nigh impossible to find his replacement. Thank God for you, Ray.
Simply The Greatest Singer of the 20th Century, Without Ray Charles we wouldn't have had any of it, "Rhythm and Blues" "Rock 'n' Roll" "Soul". All the other artists from the mid fifties onwards were influenced by Ray Charles. Music without Ray Charles is unthinkable to me, I wouldn't know what a "Soul" was, if it wasn't for him. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Ray Charles Robinson. R.I.P.
Thats the music in a movie when something works ( good ) . I heard this song and said good bye to the Pop-dirt i heard before . ... hope you live in peace , master Ray Charles : )
If you enjoy Ray's voice there is every chance you'd also enjoy the late Richard Manuel (who has often been likenend to Ray) of The Band. Check out his solo work on his live CD "Whispering Pines".
Johnnie ray has more pain and soul in his voice.. especially when he says "if your heartache seem to hang arounds too long, and your blues keep getting bluer with every song."
Does anyone know which album this is on? I can't even find it on Amazon. I tho't I had every song he ever sang & just clicked on this bc I am fan since the first note of "What'd I Say"? Amazing how he gets that poetic feeling just right...not too many throwaways in my collection of his music.
whats to say, Rays music says it all. This is the kind of music you like to have when traveling on long car trips with people you care about. What a wonderful country we live in, it still allows for the simple pleasures that mean so much.
This is the first time that I've heard Ray's version of Johnnie Ray's "Cry", wow,, it's right there with the original, but, what else do we expect from Ray!
OOOhhhhhh Ray,,, this is one of my gotta hear songs... Just the sound of Ray's voice warms my heart. His music takes the edge off of my bad days. I love him so much.. I just love him.....
I love this song to death and I'm not sad, and haven't lost anybody lately. He's just the master! Everytime I think I have all his music, I find another!
so beautiful and the lyrics are so true.. I know how painful it is to lose the love of your life all I do is cry... been 4 months and still can't stop. It is strangely comforting though and songs like this provide extra comfort. Thank you for posting.
This is my favorite song by Ray. It doesn't seem to be as mainstream as some of his other songs but to me it has more emotion and soul than any other song he created.
At the time he recorded it, Ray was compared to Johnny Ray. Each had their own way. Since I was more of an R&B fan then, I liked RC's version better. As I have aged, both have different, but good, renditions. Both are definitely emotional. Guys do that sometimes. LOLOLOL.
thats because jamie fox was an actor in the movie ray charles so in the song gold digger by kanye west jamie fox for example was the closest they had to a voice like ray charles its the other way around jamie fox is imitating ray charles.
wonderfull!!!
