@airthrow He's probably a baha'i now, but yes I remember him saying that on Jay Leno a few years back, it was when he was growing up though. Its not always easy growing up a Jehovah's witness, I know.
Bahai faith is the made-up hippie religion of the world; it's the Miss America pageant answer...world peace and unity for all. I'm all for these things but their is no real substance to the "religion". It's simply stating that all those guys from the other religions are important in the same way. To put Christ on the same playing field as Bahá’u’lláh is pretty ballsy. Its funny how some come short of saying that he died to save sins. Take the whole thing if you're going to take pieces of him.
@theturkishshepherd I think there is a lot more substance to the Baha'i Faith than you might have had the chance to see. I think the Baha'i perspective of the Bible is the most complete I have ever come across, even before I became a Baha'i ten years ago. To a Baha'i, unity is of course important, but this can not occur without first the establishment of justice.
The OP is totally correct about the cosmetics of Ba'hai, unfortunately, he only trashes it because he has his own infallible religion that commands him to. For me, its hard NOT to see through all religions, because I'm a student of philosophy. It's a matter of critical thinking. Anyone "dieing their hair black and being agnostic to rebel against their parents" was never really concerned with truth in the first place. That's the reason I'm not mystical, it makes no sense to me.
@GnomesAmok "That's the reason I'm not mystical, it makes no sense to me." Exactly the point. Mysticism does not make "sense". I do not believe any being that ever claimed some mystical knowledge said it does. It is beyond sense. Yet even philosophically and empirically speaking I believe mysticism, religion and God are all completely valid concepts.
@theturkishshepherd They are important in the same way in that they were God's messengers for those people at that time, but Bahaullah came to us as the world was developing the telephone, telegraph, and radio. He was the first messenger from God who was sent for the entire world in a technological age. It is said that a true baha'i would rather die than deny any of the messengers of God, including Jesus.
I don't know about this interview, he told Jay Leno his parents were Jehovah Witnesses when he was growing up.

This might be a bit of a long shot, but, does anybody know what the song that plays before the Stamps.com ad, on this podcast, is called?
