I think because his english isn't the best he sounds a little gruff with the kids. Ovechkin is an intense player and his attitude has been misconstrued so that people think he's an asshole. That's not entirely true. I'm sure these kids asked him some ridiculous questions too. Like about his stick, about his skates, probably his hair. Many of the kids are probably there just to see him and don't care about drills much at this clinic.
