This song really grows on you, especially if you've seen the movie and ever ventured out into the wild. I've been on adventures like this a few times in my life, and aside from memorable moments spent with my loved ones, I will remember those adventures as the greatest moments of my life. It's really good when you first start out, but like the movie's most important message... there is a time to come home, because love means nothing if not shared.
"Into the Wild" musical theme by Gustavo Santaolalla is an Argentine musician, who has scored for films such as The Insider, Collateral, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries, etc. He has also composed for the famous film, Into the Wild (2007), directed by Sean Penn
i truly respect chris and he and i are a lot a like i spent 5 years hitchhiking canada and have spent 3 months in the wild aka no mans land ultimate freedom i made some travel videos check em out on my page
The songs in the movie just stick with you, long after seeing it. Every time i listen to one of the songs or scores, i am feeling as though i am re-living the movie again, seeing Chris' triumphs and then his death... What a great feeling it is.
i just got done watching this movie. It was a very good movie. Christopher Johnson McCandless will be missed. He was a very good man. If he were to still be alive he would've changed the world completely. This movie makes me cry alot. the last time i saw this movie was a year ago and i ran upstairs crying. An amazing personal journey will deeply touch your heart. Watching this movie for like the 3rd time finally got through to me.
an adventure like this is something epic :-) i would make the same adventure but not alone! with your girl frined would be the best thing in the world! alone in the nature! but i know in the end it would be boring so i like to be who i'm eheheh
awesome movie, super music! And imagine this guy really went for it... What he did is what many of us dream about. No matter how the sad his adventure ends, he made his dream come true, ultimately cool!
GUys just to let you know..when i grow up ill do the same thing just live nature and relax with nothing on ur mind the only thing i want to happen is for nature to clear my mind.
He left everybody that ever cared about him. Sometimes he didn't even say bye or tell them how he felt. He just left. All of the characters wanted supertramp to fill a void, brother, employee, mentee, boyfriend, son, and somebody to carry on a name. spoiler alert!!! He went to alaska to die. He could've gotten out, for christs sake he kayaked down the colorado.
we all die someday.. but how many of us will be remembered. you cant buy life .its out side your door.he followed his dream and lost his life .you cant fault anyone for that choice.
His actions spoke clearly. I am quite sure that as he was dying that miserable death that he had a revelation that an upper middle class lifestyle was not so bad after all. He absolutely meant to hurt them or he would have called them in the 2 years he was away. Would you do that to your parents, knowing that they were dying with worry? He may not have meant to die out there but he did not plan to live out there either.
When Chris was dying, he wrote one last entry in his journal. "The only way to truly multiply happiness is to devide it." So no, he didn't have that revelation that a fake materialized lifestyle wasn't so bad, but he did have a revelelation that without making people other them himself happy, he couldn't truly be happy. So he learned something from the whole ordeal. He died a great man.
Another lesson might be, heed the boy scout motto and "be prepared" or "give the man a moose and no training on how to preserve it and he eats for a day, learn how to preserve a moose and he survives." The same goes for fishing. He had a pole and net and still starved. ........ He died a damned fool.
This video has a few parts that the movie doesn't include. For example: when he's canoing and eating an apple, he smiles at the camera. And there's a couple more. Did they come from the special edition?

God help you all if you don't believe. I once had doubt but you have to look inside yourself to find meaning. If you think two big rocks smacked together in outer space and created a perfect being then the devil is laughing at you my friend. You can't ignore the fact that something very powerful is going on to make you breathe every breath of air so why on earth can you not give it a chance?
That's one theory about certain chemicals brought to Earth by a meteorite or a comet. We can't be sure right now.
As for Alex Supertramp, from what I remember from the book it's not that certain that he made a mistake gathering edible plants. Actually, it's rather unlikely. The movie shows one theory.
Sorry, straw man arguments and ignorance will get you nowhere. People who "looked inside themselves" created hundreds of thousands of religions, most of them extinct now. Religion doesn't have answers, just excuses.
Why can't I personally give it a chance? It's because I'm not naive, I can think for myself and I cared a lot to study about the subject.
Were did I mention anything about religion? I only mentioned God. Its very obvious to me that you may in fact be the "ignorant" one seeing how you thought you saw something I had said and you spoke before really knowing. If you could think for yourself then maybe you would see truth but then again maybe your too obtuse and incapable of knowing how. Sounds like you may need to open the "book", thats the bible if you had trouble following me, and study more.
Oh yeah, because God and the Bible isn't religion, is it? And you want to call me obtuse? I almost spilled my tea laughing... Nice try evangelizing here, though. I opened the book so many times it's enough, that's how I learned thinking for myself.
All of you who want to preach about "the truth" need a therapy because you have no idea what truth is. Good luck and may your god/gods bless you as many times as you need.
u state religion. u state science. the thing u guys have to ask urselves is when u die is that it for all eternity/infinity/forever or do we live on/is there more. not taking any sides, im just stating.
There's actually a little electrical impulse that keeps your heart beating. This is why a defibulator works and why people use electric shock in hospitals. Not dogging your opinion, just stating the facts.
how do you explain that thing beating in your chest? It's not charged by batteries!! It's God!!! How can anyone not believe in a higher power!! He thanked God for a great life as we all should...
This film put everything into perspective, the fact that every person's life is planned out. You grow up, go to school, get a job then have that very short part of your life where you can do what ever you choose, retirement. Then honestly, when you realy think about it. There's no life after death, when you die, you die. No matter how good life is, life sucks... :)
What really sucks is that they excluded the music that followed Chris's final breath from the soundtrack.....I hate that when record co. execs or production companies do stuff like that.
There is nothing beautiful about starvation. That poison plant and injury angle has been contested by a pathologist and plant experts who checked the entire area around Chris. This B.S. was left in to make him look more a victim than a fool. You could eat rabbits every day and still starve because the meat is too lean. What this kid needed was the fish in the streams which have plenty of fats and nutrients. He had a fishing pole and net but starved anyway. He never learned to fish i guess.
He wasn't a survival expert or anything. He started his trip to alaska straight from college. He went to Alaska to have some solitude and achieve a state of mind

Hello Mr Banjo
I agree with you that everything is not as cut and dried as people would like to believe in their cosy little worlds.
But...what has that got to do with a guy having the balls to think sod the establishment and what Im expectd to be.
I'll find out out for myself. he would still be here today if it wasnt for a silly mistake with his edible plant guide.
On the subject of two big rocks, how else do you think this planet became inhabited?
