  • I like this woman. Jessica is articulate, smart and has an open mind. If you can look pass her outer beauty, you hear a women touching on some very important points about the South. I love the shot with the Louisiana politicians showing them as crooks. Being from New Orleans, I really understand what she is talking about.

  • I will never vote for a democrat because they believe in big government.. (Period)

  • She is educated?

  • Yes.

  • That's why she is so screwed up in the head.

  • okidoki AJ.

  • She never paid attention to the President when he was running about making a deal with the hunters so that they would vote for him. He is a socialist who is now reneging on campaign promises like "If you are making below $250,000 you will see no new taxes". Now he is agnostic to the idea of taxing middle class America. He has not had a transparent government. No C-span and not 5 days for the public to read a bill. He wants to run these monster bills through congress and yell physical respo

  • AJ, you dummy, you should be glad that he reneged on his promises. Those promises are the policies you feared. I hate the fact that he allowed congress to screw up the health care issue, making it detrimental to broadcast the debate on c-span. I hate the fact that he has not withdrawn a single troop from Iraq or lifted don't ask don't tell. This is starting to look like the McCain administration because Obama can't stand up to congress or his opponents. He has NOT wavered about tax policy tho

  • Haha! He hasn't gotten past the healthcare issue that he wants to push down our throats. You must be the real dummy. People don't need government to give them so called entitlements. The only thing a man should be entitled to is to be free. The American Government should let free markets stay free with as little intervention as possible. I don't think Mccain would have been the best but he was the bette 2 of the choices we had. I believe in the Constitution and the freedoms it guarantees.

  • To agree with this girl you have to assume too much. Why was it the government's job to go into New Orleans? What else was Bush supposed to do? How come the white people got out ahead of time but the blacks didn't when everyone was warned ahead of time equally? I got so sick of hearing Bush get called a racist over this. Blame the Democrat mayor and the Democrat governor. This isn't the Federal Government's job.

  • Thanks for your comment. Nowhere in this video is George Bush called a "racist." In New Orleans (if you've never been there) people from poor neighborhoods lacked transportation to leave the city. Whites in NOLA tend to be middle-upper class w/ cars. Protecting the citizens of the United States from danger is and should be one of the top priorities of the U.S. government, at all levels: Federal, State, and Municipal. In your view, the federal government should let states deal w/ terrorists?

  • Hey for you all who think that this girl doesn't have a southern accent, there is something you don't know. I was born and raised in New Orleans and now live up north, but EVERYONE tells me I don't have that strong of a southern accent. That is because New Orleans is a melting pot of people from all over. I have 'never' had as strong an accent as people from northern La......so no, she's not faking anything--I talk more like this girl does--with just a 'mild' southern accent.

  • Shreveport is probably like all urban centers in the South today; black holes of yankee "progressive" lunacy and Obamaphilia. BTW - being "Southern" is more than the location of one's birth, it is a state of mind. We are fiercely independent, conservative (but not republican) deeply religious, and "a little bit mad" as someone once said.

As for the Gov. of Louisiana, The South has always had it's traitors or "scalawags" from Andrew Johnson to Lyndon Johnson to Bill Clinton et al. Thanks.

  • We don't agree with you about what it "takes" to be Southern. You can't simply eschew ancestral and genetic heritage when making such qualifications. By you description, a "Southerner" could very well be from Idaho or Vermont. What you are describing is a behavioral pattern, that is common throughout the United States. Conservatism, religious, independent--these are traits many Americans share, not just "Southerners." To be from the south is to be "southern." Thank you for your comment.

  • You hit the nail on right on the head. I have a yankee friend of mine (from New York City no less) who is more of a Southerner than alot of actual Southerners I know. We can agree on one thing. The young lady in your vid is beautiful even if her head ain't on straight. LoL.

  • I disagree. Someone from New York City who has lived in the South is IN NO WAY more southern than a Southerner who is descended from the Confederacy but who has lived away from the South. I agree with the other poster who says you can't ignore genetics. How in the world is your New York City friend a Southerner? You didn't really explain that.

  • I don't know where this chick is from but she sure as hell ain't from the South. Maybe try faking a Southern accent next time.

BTW- Dubya Bush was one sorry excuse for a president but no intelligent Southerner would ever, EVER vote for a marxist or muslim like B.O. his skin color is irrelevant.

  • The girl in the video was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, near the Arkansas/Texas border.

Not everyone from the south has a thick accent, Bobby Jindal, the GOP governor of Louisiana for example.

As for who an intelligent Southerner would or would not vote for, It is our belief that this is impossible to tell. Southerners should vote for the candidates that best represent their values. That is the point of this video, be intelligent, do research, and then vote. Thanks for watching

  • What will Obamas tax policies do for someone making 100, 000 dollars a year do? He says that he will give everyone a tax cut, but if he lets the Bush tax cuts wxpire, what will it really do?

  • Good question. First of all, I'd urge everyone to check out the tax calculator on Obama's website. His website also states:

"Barack Obama and Senator McCain both support extending the Bush tax cuts for all families making less than $250,000 (singles making under $200,000). Therefore, the model assumes that the Bush tax cuts are extended in 2009 for approximately 98% of taxpayers under both candidates' plans." (source: Tax Cut FAQ on barackobama . com)

  • So, as I understand it based on my research, people making $100,000 will not see their Bush tax cuts expire. They will also see an additional tax cut.

  • Also, let's just remember that McCain voted against the Bush tax cuts in 2001 and 2003 saying this after the 2001 vote: "I cannot in good conscience support a tax cut in which so many of the benefits go to the most fortunate among us, at the expense of middle class Americans who most need tax relief."

And this to NBC's Meet the Press in April of 2004: "I voted against the tax cuts because of the disproportionate amount that went to the wealthy Americans." (source for both: Media Matters)

  • So I hope that his change of heart is genuine. Not to mention that it is ultimately up to Congress to extend the Bush tax cuts, not the president, although he can, or course, choose to support it or not. Obama makes it clear that he supports the portion of those tax cuts that give relief to those making less than $250,000 a year. He does not, however, support those that give big breaks to the very rich, which was, it seems, the reason that McCain did not support them in the first place.

  • I hope that answers your question, and thanks for watching!

  • Thanks, But its easy for him to say that he supports the Bush tax cuts. It doesnt matter because it will be up to the Congress and the Senate to pass a budget. I dont see him vetoing what Reed and Pelosi and Landreu want to do. Do you?

  • ooops, I see we were on the same page, but your lastpost showed after my comment. Sorry.

  • Great! It is courageous to speak out, but even more courageous to attempt to dispel xenophobia. Props. Any chance we'll get a "hot latin man talking politics" sequel?

  • Thanks for the video response!

First of all, I love your title card with the red pumps and newspaper. Who drew that?

It often makes me sad, where I'm from, a lot of people harbor prejudice against the South. But I've been all over this country, and everywhere I've been--North, South, East, West, and the Middle--there's some cool people, and some not-so-cool people. You are obviously one of the cool ones.

There is no RED AMERICA and BLUE AMERICA...

We are the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

  • im not an amarican

but i realy do hope the obama wins

at least someone Respect other countries and not talking about Bombing countries that dont agree with usa
