I am pretty ready to put my head down to say this cannot be real... unless I am missing out on some parts. Sucking water from the pipe and blowing out in the opposite direction will not create trust; it will just cancel out.. I cannot see the working principle.

@fionantino : I think you missed the fact, that the pipe which sucks the water is much thicker than the blast pipe where the water comes out. The acceleration force of the water ( created by the different pipethicknes ) pushes the "jetpack" in the air.

What's the reason to make it waterbased rather than air-based? I thought it was all about pressure differentials, whether it'd be generated by water or air.

But I'd just think that air would make the application more flexible since you have air everywhere unlike water.

Of course, this restriction is a good way to guarantee safety. If you fall, you fall in water, and if you go too high, the pump will lift from the water as well, causing you to go down again.

Its powered by a 150kW gasoline engine using 2 ducted fans for thrust. It's range is about 51km per tank. It can carry max 130kg (includes the passenger) for payload. Max altitude ~2.5km
