  • Sorry which of you is a member of Tool? Because using phrases like "sorry for the bad news", "clearly", "morons" etc etc sure makes it sound like you're sure, but only the band know. Your opinion is not correct until proven so; don't talk down to people who don't share it.

  • @chaza221 I agree with this dude.

  • @buttmonkey3 'only the band knows' - how naive of you ...

  • @TheOriginalEntz Bro ... No.

  • how many of you actually play music or understand it at all , morons

  • @silverburst79 If they think this "works" then they clearly don't play instruments.

  • FUK THEY ARE MEANT TO BE REARRANGED AND LAYERED !!!, THATS WHAT VIGINITI TRES MEANS , THEY ALL FIT TO THE SECOND , , NOT EVERYONE IS GONNA PULL OUT A PROGRAM AND NIT PICK LIKE THIS ,

  • @silverburst79 Y U MAD BRO?

  • Perhaps this "Falling out of sync" was intended with those two songs. In the other renditions of this "hidden track", the falling out of sync circa 9:45 of the vocal parts made it slightly easier, rhythmically speaking, anyway, to listen to the combined vocal tracks, and made it sound "trippy".

  • /watch?v=EFjEp79zaNw

Works pretty well though doesn't it?

  • @N3CR055 That video works because it has been altered - hence the title - 'Perfect Sync.' If you were to simply layer the songs on top of each other, then you would hear how they were out of sync. Hence the video yo,

  • Who knows though... What happens if you dont add those weird spaces and just stack viginty tres on top of 10k and then put wings pt 1 right after it? Does it sound decent at all? Does viginty tres have any significance whatsoever? Cuz Im thinking whoever thought of this just decided to add a random track there with the right length to fill in the time gap. Seems like you could take any track based on its length to "fix" this problem. And that to me could be done with ANYTHING...

  • @PizzaHunter2011 It seems like the sounds do match up though in Virginiti Tres. If you just stack the two tracks on top, then they clash and fall out of sync. Look to many other videos on youtube to see this in action. It's why I spent so long making this one.

  • @buttmonkey3 But like I said Im not a musician so its hard for me to understand what you mean by "in sync". The only parts that honestly seem synced are the end of wings pt 1 and 10k when he sings(and some of the instrumentals actually line up nicely). As for the sounds in viginty tres: I dont think they honestly match as well as you say. The main thing about viginty tres is that its a very passive ambient sound other than the part at 3:24. That part dsnt match the 10k theme at all.

  • @PizzaHunter2011 Now I'm listening to it .... don't do this to me bro. I don't want to cut up Virginiti Tres ....

  • @PizzaHunter2011 have you even listened to it synched without a program its about a split second from being perfect ,

  • Even if they found some kind of insane method to make it PERFECTLY align, dont you think that it would align alot better than youve done here? And it definitely wouldnt involve cutting, pasting, stretching and all that stuff. Youre practically making your own song if you are forced to do all that stuff.

Obviously the end part of the two songs were meant to be the same... Just not stacked one on top of the other, duh. Its called resonance. He repeats something profound for even greater effect.

  • @PizzaHunter2011 You are 100% correct. This is a fan-made "easter egg" and it's not real. The band didn't intend for this to happen to their music.

  • @VitalemRecords yes they did , this guy is just making it ridiculously more complex than its supposed to be

  • @silverburst79 Nope, this is a fan-boy fantasy. What happens here is a "REFRAIN". It's one of the oldest musical tools. Like a chorus or verse or bridge. Also, the secret to the album has been revealed, and it's not "stack songs on top of each other" - the secret is that the album's tracks represent the chakras in a metaphorical sense.

Sorry for the bad news. Refrains don't mean puzzle pieces.

  • 9:48 Day...light...dims. Thats honestly the best part of this entire fail secret coded bs. I think that part sounds awesome as fuck though. Honestly why in the name of satan would they try to hide a secret fricken track in their music? What the fuck is this indiana jones? Also, can you imagine how impossibly hard it would be to match the exact tempo of something twice in a row? Im not a musician but I have a mechanical mind and that just sounds crazy.

  • Interesting that it ends at 11:23

  • @TOPHERHARPER I would like to refer you to some of the below comments ....

  • @buttmonkey3 I am referring to the numerology behind those two numbers. I like what you did here. Very cool. I don't understand how you came up with the first part, could you elaborate on that? 0:00 to 5:08

  • @TOPHERHARPER The numbers are mostly coincidental. The first part is simply Virginiti Tres laid over the longer track. There are no problems with that particular sync, it is when adding the other track to the piece that it all goes haywire.

  • Hey dude, have you tried stretching one of the tracks so the tempos are exactly the same? I'm not big on the technology of this but it should be doable, right?

  • @KrisdashPaul It could work, but the problems that this video should point out is that the gaps between parts that would seem to sync up are never universal. Some are much further apart than others.

  • It is interesting that the two tracks climax together exactly at 9:14 and that added together makes 23. However the rest of the sync sounds like shit and doesn't match up at all, maybe bar the end with the vocal echoing. The point is, layering these tracks doesn't add any musical value at all. Maybe they decided to do the 9:14 thing just as a studio exercise to try add something special to arguably the weaker songs on the album, and to fuck with fanboys. Could have even been a marketing trick.

  • @tooldrummer They climax at 9.14 because I cut the tracks into pieces and made sure that they did. When laid directly on top of each other, those two riffs that match perfectly are way out of time. The rest of your comment is kind of the whole point of the video though dude.

  • @buttmonkey3 I felt like I added at least something to the table haha. Even if I didn't let me be happy in the knowledge that my words aren't meaningless in the comments section of a youtube video. Plus, there are still people talking about how amazing this all is in the comments so felt like you needed some more pawns fighting your side.

  • @tooldrummer Fair play buddy

  • Agreed...reaching WAAAAYYYYY too fucking far. I love TOOL, but...........all you are doing is emphasizing certain bandwidths that are already there and meant to be part of the background. Anyone with an EQ can create this effect. SORRY>>>>>>>>>

  • @jessblackwolf You really have no idea what you are talking about do you?

  • Well thankyou for the video, the final and true revealing that this Hidden track is just a true coincidence. Though it is inspiring...

  • I think the drifting apart at the end is symbolic. the heavy riff at 9:14 (9 + 14 = 23/Viginti Tres) syncs up perfectly then drifts apart after that. Maybe to symbolize Maynards mother drifting apart from him or drifting apart from her body. At the end you can kind of hear the two dialogues complete each other, and at the very end the last two words in the last sentence "It's time for us to let you GO HOME". "go from one track, and "home" from the other, implying Judith belongs in heaven.

  • @Thermingt0n all due respect but I think you may be reaching just a bit there. I tried this same thing about 2 years ago using Adobe Audition and I ran into the same problem the example above did. At certain points in the layering, the songs simply do not mashup. I agree with the people who've said this is just coincidence. Remember, the members of Tool know how rabid their fans are and take any and all opportunities to 'F' with us.

  • @MrJdgarfield Very true, but I think it's far too coincidental - a failed technical exercise if you will.

  • nice job!

  • perhaps it's simply a reprise and not intended to do anything other than cause we nauseating maniacs to try to make it work? :)

  • @strigilives I do sometimes think that

  • yea the should you see satans face to night bit... yea thats not an accident.

  • Thanks for this. I did not know!!!! Creative, and creativer!!

  • I don't think that you're supposed to synch the voices at the very end. I listened to another version of this where they were on the opposite beats, up and down beats and it was a crazy, intense sort of echo that resonated really well. Perhaps they altered their version or something and it doesn't naturally line up as they had it but it sounded really haunting.

Either way, it doesn't matter as much to me anymore if they intended for this or not, it makes for one hell of a listening experience

  • @captainmorgan284 That's one of the biggest problems with this 'track.' It becomes very subjective when you try and place things in 'order.' There are millions of different combinations for the pieces. Either way, I agree - it is a hell of an experience

  • @buttmonkey3 yeah one hell of an experience like 10,000 days of suffering of his mom.

  • Definitely amazing to hear ~I dont know how you did all this but WOW!

  • @deeroni9577 It drove me a little insane for a while - thanks dude

  • Can someone explain what this is?

  • @heirkraft People think that you can layer three tracks from 10,000 days and they make a new song. But the band didn't mean for this, and it sounds like shit.

  • @VitalemRecords u mad bro?

  • @buttmonkey3 Nope, just explaining what this is to the person that asked.

  • Really, I thought that was what your video was depicting - the fact that the audio doesn't work when you layer them over each other. Otherwise you wouldn't have had to do the cutting and placing.

If they meant for this to be done, you wouldn't have to carve it up, and the audio spectrum would be PLEASANT when the three tracks are layered.

I thought that was the point you were making with the video. If that's not the case, then I mean no harm.

  • @VitalemRecords To an extent that is what I am trying to convey. I think it was just incredibly frustrating for me, listening to how easy people made it sound and then discovering that it was slightly out. It is certainly true that someone fucked up in the recording process, and hopefully people get something out of my response to it. Later Gator.

  • @buttmonkey3 In my opinion, nobody fucked up in the recording. I don't think the tracks are meant to be layered over each other. There are things called "refrains" that happen in albums all of the time. Pink Floyd (in the wall, animals, wish you were here, etc...) Just because they sing the same melody, doesn't mean they want you to put the music over each other. Two Cents.

  • @VitalemRecords but this has same riffs drums and vocals , accident ? dont think so , and viginiti tres is latin for 23 which means sychronicity

  • @silverburst79 No, it's not an accident. The two songs are Part One and Part Two. So it logically follows that there would be the same melody and lyrics. That would be like layering all three "Another Brick in the Wall" right when he says "All In All It's Just A-Notha Brick In the Wall" and ignoring all of the stuff that DOESN'T line up.

    Sorry, it doesn't work.

Synchronicity doesn't mean "lay stuff on top of each other that don't fit"

  • Sweet jesus. My mind just exploded all over the floor. That is insane. I love you so so much, I hope you don't mind me illegally downloading this track just to have my mind blown over and over again, this is a fantastic find, thank you so so much... And Tool never ever EVER does anything by accident. You're a genius!!!!!!

  • co to za syfffff .....???

  • I think it was done for a principle we can visually see when using DMT. Has something to do with the soul-body-mind connection. The drifting apart of the actual song and the spirit might aswell be a metaphor for whats happening to the human race.

  • Literally got a chill at the "Set as I am in my ways and my arrogance" just because the other vocals matched up to the question so well. "What have I done to be son to an angel, what have I done to be worthy?"

  • I don't have wings fuck head (speaking to bryan)

    I'm not an angel

    dark angel

I already made wings for myself for halloween one year, my last trick or treating year even though it was kind of cliche but I couldn't think of anything else that I was or that would fit- with the Angel on earth Hotter than Hell boy T-shirt. ninth grade.

    does this help?

  • This is an interesting exercise. I have to say though that I think the simple overlap method produces a better effect. Trying to sync that which cannot be synced produces dissonance, but just letting the songs flow together produces counterpoint. :)

  • I believe the echo is intended by the engineers aka Adam...They def. did this intentionally...Shit like this doesn't just happen cause you think your cool! I kind of feel like we are experiencing his mothers death but through his eyes and mind...Like we are him and we are watching helping his mother pass over and at the same time giving God a big Fuck You, Dick!

  • @fastjoe14 Whatever the reason, this whole album is awesome. Thanks for watching guys

  • I believe the echo is intended by the engineers aka Adam...They def. did this intentionally...Shit like this doesn't just happen cause you think your cool!

  • Yeah, i believe the echo at the end was intentional.

  • Dude, this is amazing. Thank you very much for uploading this.

  • @BLooDCoMPleX

    Thanks dude
