The Frame Rails need to be beefed up (to prevent that fold), and the cab needs to be re-enforced... cause the driver is now pined between his/her seat and the steering wheel
now immagine this on a single lane highway head on at 110km/hr any ambulace crash you are guarrenteed to be seriously hurt or killed the box weighs so much that it just crushes the front killing the driver and the guy in the back attending isnt strapped in what so ever so hes flying around and the safest spot is the guy strapped to the stretcher but he'll probably be hurt by the medics flying body
at a head on collision at 110/km your chance are just none if the vehicul goes from 110 to 0 in less then a second... ans still its the fastest way to the hospital lolll
I was the driver in a MVC of a unit . I got a head injury , dislocated knee, Partner had a head injury , Stryker came off the rail but pt was fine . The other driver ( at fault) died ! . Speed on impact 40km ( down from 90 km when I started braking ) Struck other vehicle on passenger side . All over in 5 sec . So drive safe , watch for other drivers . You dont want my nighmares .
Ive been In a MVC driving a unit . Head injury , dislocated knee . Better than the other driver ( at fault ) who died ! Its all fun and games till it happends to you !
Cool, save the patient (Who will probably die anyways) at the expense of crushing the driver. -_- The new Ambulances have stronger bases, more strength from the box to the cab.
ouch

Too heavy for its own good. But who drives against a rigid wall?
swordfish1986 1 year ago
The passenger structures fail because the body was to heavy to handle.lol

its sad a car is designed to keep you safe and have minor injuries at 50km where as a 30 mph impact is designed to kill everyone in the ambulance.

i wonder what the crash would be like if it was like a 30ft moterhome
hotrodkid7 3 years ago 2
damn, only 30mph?
toyotacooper 3 years ago
well, atleast they can use the ambulance box again :/
mcelrec 3 years ago
imagine if that was at crash test speed (64 km/h, 40mph). this test is also a full frontal - an offset test would be even worse.
