Well let me say that I am for equal rights for everyone regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or creed. However I am not for gay marriage. The reason is not because I believe that you or anyone else will go to hell. The reason is because if gay marriage is legalized then the state would force religious leaders to marry gay couples even if it is against their religious beliefs. I'm sorry, but you have been misinformed. Fact: separation of church and state means that the government can't tell churches who they can and can't marry. If you go to a church who won't marry you because your spouse has been divorced before or because they are a different religion, that's perfectly legal. Same with denying gay couples. People have lied about the issue to manipulate voters. Civil unions could never be equal cause they can't give federal rights given to married couples.

Well First off I am not in misinformed on the subject. There was a special I saw in which a lawyer who supported gay marriage said that she and many other lawyer would sue pastors for denying gays the right to marry. It would be discrimination. As a matter of fact I have a few associates who pratice law as a profession who have said the same thing. Now it may vary from state to state. Actually, the story of Sodom makes no mention of homosexuality. It does talk about gang rape, which is not about sexuality, but about power.
