The Buick in 1961 was totally redesigned to remove all of that glitter and ornamentation that existed in 1960 and earlier(the fins, the wraparound panoramic windshield and an excess of chrome) to reduce the body weight for better performance along with more horsepower in the engine to become a true muscle car.
Beautiful car. Always my favorite year for early 1960s Electra 225s. There were two 1961 Buick Electra 225 models (a four door sedan and a convertible) used in the Perry Mason TV series in the 1960-61 season.
We have a 1961 Buick Electra 225 4 door hardtop too. Ours is dusk rose with a beautiful powder blue interior.all original and its cherry and for sale as well for $9,800 but if we can't sell it thats fine to its just so cool looking!!!
