@mdslick1 Does it matter if the boy teased the dog? Would a chihuahua come at someone if it was being yelled at? Would a Lab attack someone if it was being yelled at? I doubt it. And no, I did not set the description for what I "wanted" to hear. I set the description for what actually did happen. And that was that a Pit Bull attacked a young boy. It doesn't matter how or why. The dog attacked someone, therefore, it is vicious.

@BanThePitBull And the fact that the dog attacked has no bearing on the fact that it was a pit bull. And yes, if provoked, a lab or any other animal for that matter would attack. It's the plain and simple truth. If trained correctly and with proper ownership, these animals make excellent pets. Research has proven that breed itself has no bearing on temperament but rather the environment in which it is raised. Respect the animal and it will show respect in return.

@BanThePitBull IN the 90's it was rotties, in the 80's it was German Shepherds, etc. The reason why pits attack more, if they do, is because of their popularity, which leads to higher demand, puppy mills, and people who shouldn't own them, do. And how do their attack frequency measure up if you take into consideration their total numbers in the US; meaning % rate?

Man kills pitbull attacking his dog
ST. Augustine, FL - A man said a pair of pitbulls tried attacking his kids and his dog, forcing him to kill one of the pitbulls.
Bryan Jones, 44, was walking his dog when three dogs, two of which were pitbulls, approached them.
"I picked up my 4 y/o. I couldn't get to the 2 y/o in time and the dog was approaching the 2 y/o" Jones said. "When he got about? a foot away from him, that's when I decided to take action on the dog."
