Great idea and use of tech whose time has come! Nothing new really in terms of philanthropic motivations (see The Seven Faces of Philanthropy by R.A. Prince & K.M. File). All good fundraisers know the importance of connecting with these motivations - especially the personal connection part. What is new: the tech to pseronalize a video message and give the donor personalized e-tools to help challenge their friends. The challenge of getting people to take 3 hours to make video remains.

Yesterday, I was watching a video of David Ogilve. Ogilve used scientific research to find out how to sell. Taylor Conroy has done much the same: find the principles for motivating people to give to charities. Magnificent. This is entrepreneurship: adding value to the world - and to life itself.
