  • Beautiful (:

  • 1 dislike = jealous, you wish you could play this well

  • Very very nice playing, I love these tunes, and we can get pretty good view of the fretboard, so I'll try studying this to see if I can piece a bit of the tunes together for myself.

  • Brilliant! Thanks for posting, I have always loved Mr Cooder's version of this tune!

  • Great playing... please play the Long Riders

    Thanks Keep em coming

  • I love your take on this one, yoneman3. Your personal nuances make it yours.

  • Great instrumental! Very good technique - beautiful songs.

  • Absolutely beautiful... Clean, inventive and in complete harmony with Cooder's original version.

  • Great cover- I really like your videos - takes me a while but I can just about manage to follow. I liked your kid's first blues jam on your main page - I've had a few of them with my wee boys too.

  • Very stylish reading of the Spence tune! Thanks for posting, I also like that sweet guitar!

  • great job!

What's that big thing behind your nut? also what guitar is that? you recorded it nicely.

    5 stars, well deserved.

  • Fantastic playing. Thanks for sharing it with us.

  • とても、素晴らしく感動しました。

    私もギターを弾いて随分経ちますが、なかなか上達しないまま30数年が経過しています。

    素敵な音楽をありがとうございます。

  • Awesome version - and "easy" to see

what is going on in this video.

Have been trying for a long time to nail this one (GDfH), and I am getting closer now - especially with the help from your wonderful lesson :-)

  • Here is a great tribute song to Joseph Spence by Ralph Mctell, which also includes this tune as an instrumental + various other JS licks.

    Enjoy ;-)

  • I just gave 5 stars also. It's great to hear someone play Ry Cooder, and do it justice.

  • Thank you for giving five stars. \(^o^♪

  • @viking1au ...as it was nice to hear Ry play Joseph Spence.

  • @viking1au ...as it was nice to hear Ry play Joseph Spence and Los Indios Tabajaros.

  • いいものを聴かせて頂きました。ありがとうございました。

    Great Dream from Heavenはいつか弾きたいと思っている曲です。

  • コメント痛み入ります

    アメリカにお住まいですか、凄いな〜♪

  • best version on the web, yoneman. as jon spencer sez - you got the flavour! you dont do any john fahey, do you?

  • Thank you for the comment. \(^o^♪

I have not heard John Fahey.

  • I do a very simplified version of great Dreams that has most of the notes up at the 2nd 3rd and 4th frets, ie substituting the notes over to be easier to play mostly on the 1st 3 strings, so it is nice to see your more complete version. Well done.

  • Thank you for the comment. \(^o^♪

  • thanks for posting great song it helps me to learn it 5 stars and greetings from germany

  • Thank you for giving five stars.

  • well if close your eyes you would think that was Ry Cooder well done for having the talent to play this by listening to the cd i'm still trying it's a struggle.

  • Thank you very much for your comment

  • Brilliant!!!

  • Thank you for the comment.

  • very nice work on "Great Dream". Sounds like the tab I found of Ry Cooder's version. Maria Elena is very nice also. Where can I find a tab for that? Also, what kind of guitar are you playing?

  • Thank you for the comment.

I have not seen the TAB score.

It practices while listening to CD.

    My guitar is GIBSON L-140.

    My finger is very short.

If it is a guitar played easily, any guitar is acceptable.

  • nice touch, very nice

  • Thank you so much.
