Technically, if it's solid it's ice. Pretty much all matter has three forms which are dependent upon the temperature. Water ice may need to be cold, but our world is full of solid objects. Metal, rocks, all are "ice" at normal temperatures, requiring extreme heat to become liquid.

It's similar to salt, in fact its a semi-common flavoring. Drinking a solution like that will make you sick, and some of it will crystallize in your mouth and throat.

If you stick something into it, there will be a hole of that shape in it after it solidifies.

It's not rock-hard when solid, and depending on how well you mix it it might come out slushy.

When you touch it, you are instigating the crystallization because you have more Sodium Acetate dissolved than you should. The final product is more or less a crystal structure of sodium acetate.
