how to close the baton properly ? refer manual they said push the button to allow the medium shaft go in a bit then release finger to then push the small shaft ( end shaft ) then push end of button til finish..pls advise

i just got one and i can confirm it quite strong to push the button to close. I open the end cap when open position it not show any malfuction ( manual said do not open cap in open position ) any one know about this ?
