soon as i heard the marvin at the beginning, i knew this would be a good video. motown was an amazing label... congrats on having all of those records! thanks for posting!
Like this one man...I think I may dig all mine out and show. Motown and all the connected labels are some of my all time favorites. Gotta catch up on your videos...good to see you.
I cannot understand Smokey's take on autographing by telling the people who make his living that he does not want them to sell it..Well ,he wants to sell his records and cds and tapes..He sounds like a cockhead...Delbert McClintion singed an unopened lp and told the buyer of it what to do to keep it more valuble for selling which was not to break the seal ..He helps his fan base....
No sweat about watching videos, you are right. The community is really large and diverse and there is a lot of life to be lived besides watching videos. I have to choose and even then it takes me awhile to see all of my favorites, you being one. Yes, it was about time for a feature on Motown.
Nice collection man, a kick ass way to spend 21 minutes. Jr. Walker., Mary Wells, just nice. I saw Chris posted a response of sorts showing his Motown/Tamla and damned if I'm not taking this as a chance to show some of mine later tonight. Bout time I pull some off the shelves instead of just showing what I've bought lately. I'm excited bout sharing these and my own Four Tops/Temptations story. Damn jerky Smokey for smokin' that gorgeous lp. Subscribed man. Be well, thx for sharing. - Lj
@mrhoffame Mr. HOF ...man I made a vid responding to your question about other music that I listen to...I just have to edit it , then imma post it...thanks for the comments hommie...peace!
Nice Motown collection, man! Wow!! A few weeks ago, I picked up a copy of Stevie at the Beach on Tamla, I think it was...which I had never seen before. Got it for pretty cheap with the original inner sleeve and clean vinyl. I have copy of Malcom X's speech Ballets or Bullets, I think it's called. You got Mad Motown Knowledge (MMK), dude!! Great story at the end! Hope all is well is D.C.!
@shawn0612 Thanks Shawn...man your channel is WHKDLDHNKBNWK!!!! Good! thanks for the comments ...peace! Your ATCQ vid should go in the VC archives...real talk!
it's tough to watch everyone's videos man I agree. but I love watching yours! man you already know Iove funk and soul so this video is just the bomb! man I want that trouble man lp! question: between the Car Wash soundtrack (it's a white label promo) and the Foxy Brown soundtrack, which would you recommend?
@babylonseeker My man! I would have to go with ah....ah..ah...damn! I'm go with Car Wash! How about you. Car Wash is one of the most slept on OST's ever.
excellent show. you took me back to my teen years. i know the music and the artists. this was our (dereck's too) party music. was great to see the import versions. man, you've got a wonderful collection. i hear you on trying to watch all the videos. i'm subscribing to more folks in the community and everyone is producing like crazy!!! great video, thanks so much for sharing.
Awesome video- so much killer, killer music! That Please Mr. Postman had me drooling man...a true piece of music history- as is all of it. Fantastic stuff. Loved the Smokey Robinson story as well- like, why does he care if your reselling it or not? Thanks for sharing.
Also did you get my message/comment from a while back? Again wanted to make sure the return address on the package you sent me was where I could send you something. Either way hit me up with the address privately if you don't mind.. Late..
What up mang? Awesome video as always! Great pieces! Some rare pressings too. All my copies of those lp's are mostly US. But yeah man totally agree in regards to German pressings, I would say the same about Japanese pressings which are as well much better sounding than US pressings. I don't have many German Tamla pressings but the few that I do have sound amazing. I own a couple of really nice Jimmy Smith Verve/German pressings that sound ridiculous. LOVE Undisputed Truth! Thanks for sharing!
Cool video again! I agree with the sonic press quality of these german press, top stuff. Trouble man, amazing/ eddie kendricks a must! I think you're the first one showing this in the vc (peeps are sleeping lol :) thanks for sharing,
It's good to see Motown and some of it's subsidiaries! I'm definitely lacking in that area. I do have a couple Temptations records(one of which is a Chinese boot of their awesome record Solid Rock). Do you have any of their rock albums on the Rare Earth label? I'm sure you do. I'll never have an artist sign my shit. Something happens to one's psyche when they gain celebrity.

Nice showcase, I just got Berry Gordy's autobiography at Goodwill yesterday. I just don't find hardly any soul at all around here.

Great Motown collection my friend. I concur, more people here need to show their Motown and soul LPs in the community.

@Paneeks1960 Hey man thanks, Motown and its labels have more nuances than Beatles Capital records (fonts, o'clocks, etc) it's impossible an annoying.
