IN CUENCA THERE ARE MANY PLACES TO GO OUT, YOUNG PEOPLE CAN HAVE FUN, PRACTICE ALL KINDS OF SPORTS FOR EXAMPLE CLIMBING MOUNTAINS, ETCETC AND THE BEACH IS JUST A COUPLE OF HOURS FROM THERE AND THE WEATHER IS ALWAYS NICE AND WARM THERE!

l lived in Cuenca for a year and in Manta for a year. I miss it so much and qant to return with much of my heart!! The Spanish, culture and food are some of my favorite things oh and the busses!! I just ove Ecuador!!! (:

For those of us who've been considering moving to Cuenca, it really helps to have your advice and input about the negatives. Are there other places in Ecuador you visited? For someone like me (single) I can't afford to live in the U.S. on my income I think the positives will outweigh the negatives.

You can't read a bunch of hype from International Living, or Yahoo, or whatever and take it as truth. The best place to live and/or retire is Paris, Los Angeles, Moscow, Seoul, Tampa, I can go on and on. I don't think Americans, Germans, Brits, etc should leave their culture just to find something cheap. I always see those articles on Yahoo "The Best Place to Retire", but that's subjective. How do they know what's best for anyone, people's likes, and lifestyle. Bad medicine.

How many friends have you made in Cuenca since you have set up your home? Have the young men met some people to associate with? Alex needs to put more input into the videos, I get the feeling that he has a lot to say but isn't. Good or Bad, what's your view on living there Alex? What do you miss the most and what would it take for you to go back to the USA?
