That looks like damn hard work. Such situations perhaps require a little help from Mr 00 Buck. And I agree with that chap above about the spring steel being the khukhuri influence - I was thinking where the hell did the designer put the khukhuri, but the call of spring steel was certainly a good spot by that adamanime2. Nice goin man
@TheEnglishRedneck45 I was thinking about using Mr Stihl chainsaw!! LOL Yeah, I had not thought about the steel being the khukhuri influence. That was a good call! Thanks
@GunznGear no problem kukri is my fav historical knife and keep up the good work your vids are very informative with different ideas to someone who is much more well known mr TNP
You and petrified wood, man you just don't go for easy ever do you. :-) Nice review of the Hawk and the Tops. I'd suggest at some point you go over to U.S. Forestry Suppliers and pick up a Swedish Safety Brush Axe.
I was stressed at work when I clicked on your vid. It was therapeutic to watch you chop. I feel better now! You should have a series of purchasable vids of you just chopping away....hahaha! But seriously boss, thanks for putting a real-time display of how much work it really takes to bring down a tree with the tools you used. Blessings to you buddy!
@mizooch70 Well, I'm glad my toil was able to help you in some way. lol That darn tree was the hardest wood I've ever tried to chop! I think it was petrified!! LOL Thanks
good job Van...would have been nice to see it fall though..lol..I bet you used a saw to process the tree down into smaller pieces?...Thanks for the vid!
@dakdak88 It probably took me another 10-15 minutes to fell it, and who wants to watch a guy swinging a hawk. Yes, I used a saw to cut it up in smaller pieces. The saw I used is a Gerber folding saw and I think that was harder than chopping it down! lol
@MrJoeyBoombotz I love saws, and have several. I'm just making a vid, every once in awhile, to show different capabilities of different gear. I will be making vids using saws also.
Fun vid Van. Great tomahawk, and nice country there! I love my axe in the wood shed, but never take it camping; prefer the old bow saw and big knife...even though my kindlin' hatchet is a great truck-camping splitter! Damn, that makes me want to get into the mountains!!
@FrikinTastik We all probably like to use different stuff when we camp. As soon as this heat wave slacks off a litlle bit, I'm hoping to get back in the woods.
@ebomey To be honest, I've only taken a chainsaw on a couple of camping trips. It's fun to use knives, axes, and hawks. Besides, you can't throw chainsaws!!
great vid. im a bow saw man myself. a good hawk and a bow saw. i like a hawk over a hatchet or small ax. cause the handle shape is much easier to make if you had to. i did make one back in my BSA days. never got the big knife thing.
@ArmyStinger150 I'm a fan of a good hawk also!! Thanks buddy! The Power Eagle is a great knife, and a awesome chopper. I'll be posting another vid to better show how it preforms.
Man you know i love them tomahawks! Looks like you're right back in you're element Van...Have fun,and be safe, and for goodness sakes stay hydrated! Its gotta be hot up there,i know its like a steam oven down here in Ga! 8)
@1dabirdman It wasn't as nearly as hot as it is now. Don't worry buddy, my Jeep can carry plenty water for me and Major!! Glad to have you back among us!!!

Do you recommend people get into tomahawk fights?
Chopping down trees is the Rocky 4 work out! I was tempted to break out hearts of fire.
Great video man! I feel lied too! I thought all youtube people were honest!
Great demo. I just shoot trees down when I back pack 84,000 miles a week.
FireArmsResQ 7 months ago
@FireArmsResQ People can fight using their tomahawk if they want... I'm going to pull out my gun and shoot them!!!
I like the big knives, I own a pile of them, but they have limitations, and to suggest they don't is wrong!
These days, if I backpacked 5 miles, then I would have to take a nap! lol

I forgot to ask..Any idea on what kind of hardwood that was?..stuff looked harder than oak or hickory ..thanks again
