i have done this before and the plasma rifle was there but it was just a plasma rifle although i was on legendary and it killed the elites and others really fast i think it is just a powerful plasma rifle thats it, but still worth it! :)

so keeping that in mind, there could have conceivably been a level where you HAD to pilot a Scarab, and the difficulty of that level would be adjusted to fit your new vehicle.
