Ugh. I hate Fame. It's not even filmed in LaGuardia! Where are the art majors in that movie anyway? They take up, like, 45% of the student population?!

Dancing on tables will just lead you to the detention room, you won't make it to class in time if you prance and twirl along the way, and are the actors even young enough to be a 12th grader?

All I'm trying to say is that this new Fame is just a rip off of High School Musical (not that I like that either *shudder*). The original is WAY better.

We have a LaGuardia in Chicago pretty much. It's called ChiArts (Chicago's High School for the Arts). It just opened this year, and I'm part of the first class ever. It's really amazing and FAME portrays us perfectly.

the movie Fame is based upon the school of the performing arts which is now the school of music and art and performing arts combined to make up LaGuardia High School. F.H. LaGuardia high school is the FAME school. not PPAS. those who say any differently should take it up with the director of this film to be proved wrong. =)

is it a scholarship school, i always wanted to know or cost? glad you got to go there must've been amazing. as for the movie, i am leary coming from the years of the original, however, the cast is superb, i wonder why they changed the character names. makes it look like a re-do, not a re-make

laguardia is a public school. you have to audition to get in though for one of the depts be it Drama, Dance, Vocal, Instrumental, Art, or Tech. (TECH 09!(

They filmed both movies at three or four different schools, even mine... PPAS. So if u think about it, LaGuardia and PPAS have a fair share... plus this remake represents our school more because the outside feature of the school was PPAS... Lag only represents the studios inside :)

this is ridiculous it wasn't even filmed in NY!! let alone in the original building. I just graduated from the dance department and I can tell you that they never represent the department correctly, one major thing DRESS CODE, we get in trouble for that and yet the trailer shows them in line crop tops and shit

I am absolutely thrilled and excited because Naturi Naughton is my nephew's girlfriend and I can't wait to see how she does. Fame was a great movie and while i am sure it will be different from what I can see it will be good.

I actually think it's due for an upgrade. I for one wouldn't want to hog the magic of this film and what it really stood for. Depriving the new, "hyper" generation what was special about it in the first place just on the basis of a singular perspective/director/composer/­choreographer would be a shame. Therefore, whatever the music, whoever the cast, i think if they stick to these core values, they will still stay true to the essence of "Fame".

I really don't think so. I mean, I know what you're talking about with 30-year-olds playing high school kids but Naturi Naughton, and Ana Maria Perez de Tagle are just two of many that look and are actually the right age for the movie. We'll see what happens.

that's what the difference will be here, that one was rated R, but i was taken because i was a FAME freak, lol. this one is PG. the names of the characters are changed. it's for a younger audience, unless standards have gotten looser in PG status. the cast looks fantastic, but all different characters. re-do or re-make? the songs should be the same. I Sing the Body Electric is my all time favourite
