  • So the review ????

  • Damn! Nice driving, you were hauling some ass around those corners!

  • I have an 09 Si... damn these cars are fun... so fast! so fun!

  • what mods were on this civic? love the sound (^_^) i have the apexi noir, fujita sri, and strup headers and sounds so sexy! not loud at all. Now i just need a reflash...either cobb ap or flash pro...

  • ur exhaust goes baaaaaa m' baaaaaaaaa

  • I love this car

  • can't wait more my si less than two weeks left wooooooooo

  • wooooo u lucky duck ;)

  • wtf i thought this was supposed to be a review

  • east or west civic is the best

  • sounded nice

  • I have a question...

I have a newly purchased Si, but I'm not sure what's better for getting the best 0-60 time:

    VSA off, or on?

  • I am not sure. My Civic is a 2006 SI which does not have VSA. I would also like to know the answer to that question just to see if my SI is at a disadvantage.

  • youre at an advantage, you dont have to press that damn button everytime you start your car up

  • wht ur sure abt civic is the best u don't know to drive

  • Comment removed

  • @jpcj420 I have a 2010, I found the VSA led to slower 0 to 60 times, and actually resulted in slower lap times as well. Furthermore, disabling the ABS resulted in even quicker lap times.

  • off

  • vsa off

  • vsa off is faster, its vsa so you cant spin, its not a type of launch control from my understanding dude, just something there to make ya feel special ;)

  • Well, the VSA is "stability" control. Not a traction control.. So either way you get wheel spin when going in a straight line during hard acceleration. It's only designed to control the car while cornering with speed so you don't lose it ♫

  • @GameRatersInc if you have good tires (The factory ones are OK) its better to have vsa off and drop the clutch around 4k RPM it comes down to practice. My best was 6.2 on a track all stock with new firehawk tires

  • @GameRatersInc

You want your VSA or (traction control) off, when you accelerate and launch, if you spin the tires with VSA on, it'll cut the fuel for a second until it regains traction, therefore, being slower.

  • I Loved my Evo VIII But I just got this car in Black and im Totally in Love, Driving it at night is soo nice with the cockpit lit up:)

  • Nice driving. Can I have your job?

  • you are a really good driver man

  • Well i hit 8500 every day, with my b16 and it has about 70k on it, compression test was done when the swap was done and after a few months of driving and the compression hasnt changed 1 psi. There is no audible mechanical noise that is out of the ordinary and still runs fine. Hondas are really tough, especially civics.

  • nice driving, but not much of a review. what's up TOV?

  • nice driving, but not much of a review. what's up TOV?

  • I LOVE that Exhaust Note!! Beautiful!!

  • cool car.. that made me dizzy.

  • where is the review?

  • love that civic!!

  • Yeah, the Mazda isn't as pretty as the SI, but it's more practical. I wish we got the European Civic Type R, it looks so mean! And it's a hatchback, like the Mazdaspeed 3, so I can fit all my stuff in it!

  • ya i guess but the type rr is the meanest and seems faster than the Si

  • type are is the same beast just diffrent ecu

  • different suspension, final drive, brakes, reinforced frame, wider front end...

  • "type are"

    ROFL!!

and like shibikku said, there are other differences. stiffer suspension with lower stance, also has different exhaust manifold and exhaust system. among several other things.

  • nice cinematic view in the coast!

  • The Mazdaspeed 3 may be stronger, but it does cost about $2k more, and will never beat the style of an SI!

  • ...or sound.

  • The speed3 would smoke a civic si. However if you put the same 16 psi turbo on an si, the civic would probably smoke the speed3.

  • uh yeah, but you'd have to pay extra..and MS3 comes with. I gotta say I don't like either car, not performance wise, just the looks. I'd prefer a 99 Si.

  • Yeah yeah, mazdaspeed3 is cool. But you'll never have problems with VTEC and it doesn't scream "pull me over" either. Anyway, this is the best review of the SI. Don't talk, just show me cool footage of someone pushing this killer car to its limits. Very nice.

  • If the Dc2 type-r abides by the new SAE standard for HP rating, it would be less than 197. The k20z3 in the the si is virtually identical to the type-s, which is factory rated at 201. Plus k series > B series :p

  • it doesn't look very quick but i suppose it CAN be wit the right parts.. i thought the type r was 197 bhp..how come they made the si 197?? i think its coz they arent launching the type r in the u.s..the engine is a K20Z3 i think

  • The old ITR was rated at 197 based upon the old rating standard. If it was still around today, its factory rating would be much lower. K series > B series :p

  • stupid comment about the ms3. The Si is a great car. But ms3 lacks in over performance. The only thing it has is a stronger engine. It almost has to much torque to even handle well for a FF.

  • i think the Mazdaspeed 3 would kill the Si in a straight line. But in corners, it'd be close

The Mazdaspeed 3 has 263hp and 280 lb-ft torque and 6 speed... stock vs. stock, theres no chance of the Si beating the Mazdaspeed 3

  • Where was the review?

  • Do Honda Re-flashes the ECU to fix the rev hang for free???

  • Yes the reflash is free and maked a BIG difference.

  • yeah it would rape mazda 3's but not mazdaspeed 3's.

  • well your forgetting that the mazdaspeed 3 is, more expensive by a few grand, has a bigger engine, turbo, and has that really wierd power band where the power seems to come on and off :/

the Si will still give any speed 3 a run for its money

  • I'm sorry I did not know that a mazdaspeed3 was turbo. The Civic engine is smaller but would be much quicker than a mazdaspeed3 if equipped with turbo. The Civic has an 11 to 1 compression ratio and redlines at 8000rpm.

  • It won't "smoke" a mazdaspeed3 however.

  • Thank you for the intelligent information. The car is 197hp stock with a short throw 6 speed and a limited slip differential. I am sorry to say that it will smoke up a Mazda 3 for fun.

  • its 197hp stock.

  • slow, what is it not even 160hp?b16a will kill one i reckon

  • Ha Ha My Mazdaspeed3 will pound you. Bring it!

  • I will bring my SI and beat you with my AJP turbo kit buddy, hahaha how do you like my 376 ponies against your 260...

  • nice, with my Si had Navi... :(
