most sandboards have a Fermica laminex base! with a quick coate of wax every run! (only takes like 5 secconds) and made of wood.

Boards are made of wood. We also use modified snowboards and WAX to slide faster.

There is a layer of smooth Formica on the bottom and a raised hard edge (1/2" beaded router cut) leaving the hard edge half-way up the thickness off the board. it lets you shimmy from side to side without locking, hen when you want to cut, it activates when you tip it. Tail rocker is also present.

I have hundreds of sandboard decks, they need the insert nuts and formica, but that is a small matter. I actually saw Jack Smith at the Los Osos Skatepark and he said he had seen Los Osos sandboard footage here. I dug through (predictably) a lot of bad stuff to find it. I am stoked because I wanted to put something up, but I would have had to sort through a lot of tapes. I have not yet heard that the dunes are closed, there are ropes and barriers to the vegitated area, but access is available from the beach side for Castle Greyskull and the Bay side to Suicides.

Absolutely Tim and Kayle at Los Osos. I think it's now closed to sandboarding.( We lost one of our favorite ride spots here in Florence Oregon too.) One of the clips however, is the Sand Master Jam at Dumont Dunes California... the rail slide. These guys are amazing and really helped push the level of this sport higher. Tim, Kayle, I hope you live forever!
