@violenceteacher6669 That's an unfair comparison. Butler is a mid-major who pretty much got to a level they weren't supposed to reach twice. The Bills of the 90s SHOULD HAVE won a championship with the talent they had. Butler has some good players, but in both years, just didn't quite have enough to beat the likes of Duke and UCONN, who are both the who's who of college basketball.

Living about 3 hours from BU and about 2 and half hours from State, I was pretty neutral seeing how I don't care for either team. However, I was rooting for Butler in the title game because...well it's duke, don't they have enough championships already? As for this year. I don't know who I want to root for between VCU and Butler, probably Butler since they're closer to me, but once again the winner of this game tomorrow is who I'll root for in the title game.

Now I'm mad at Justin Hayward for leaving after his sophomore year. He was their best player and if he was still there they'd have a good chance of going all the way. As things stand I'm afraid VCU will chew them up just like they did a bunch of other good teams. Of course VCU has done it mostly with 3's and they could go cold...

If Butler were playing ANYBODY but my Spartans, I would have been pulling for them. It was a great story and I'm sure they'll be a force again next year. As an MSU fan, I was disappointed in how flat we looked in this one, but I really can't complain overall. We came within 40 minutes of winning a national championship WITHOUT OUR BEST PLAYER. If Kalin Lucas would have been playing, there's not a doubt in my mind we would have gone all the way. Next year, we'll be EVEN BETTER too.

I was there for that game, not knowing who the Butler bulldogs were, until I started noticing Gordon fire shot after shot early.  This was a great game unlike the West Virginia vs. Duke game, which is the main reason I went.

Sure there were bad calls, but that doesn't necessarily mean Butler didn't deserve it. They deserve everything in the world. We play the Butler Bulldog way, and if some of you aren't fine with that.. then you definitely don't deserve to be playing a team who made it to the championship game. You want to be able to beat some of the best teams. That just didn't happen for State in the final four & it didn't happen for Butler in the championship game.
