Riccio loves to snuggle with me and is very calm and gentle, but they all have different personalities. :) Some will not hold still long enough to cuddle and only want to run and play. :)

Since that kind of creatures are usually wild, I thought he probably wouldn't find being in a house much fun...but according to your comment some of them actually enjoy cuddling? That is nice :) And all animals have different personalities, I know, but it's cool to know some are relaxed :D

Riccio is a domestic African hedgehog. They cannot survive in the wild here, so all hedgehogs in the US are domestic. :)

@Lyreecs What ours eat is a mix of many high-quality foods that I buy from another Hedgehog Welfare Society member. :) Look for something that is high in protein, low in fat and iron, and lactose-free. Avoid things that contain a lot of fillers, such as corn.

Do you feed your hedgehogs cat food? I do. Well I only have one hedgehog named Harold. He eats cat food and mealworms. Thats about all he'll eat. So what do you feed your hedgehogs?

@ChrisSunHwa oh i give to my hedgies Royal Canin Kitten 34, and when the store doesnt have that food i give them Pro plan kitten :P these are very good food for hedgehog... well, that was my vet said to me

It's hard to say I "recommend them" because it depends on the person. Some people just don't know how to deal with them or maybe they don't have the right temperament. Personally, *I* think they're the best little sweethearts ever and there is nothing I love more. :)

Yes. :) We had a scare recently, but he is doing fine. I found a large lump under the right side of his neck one night when I was bathing him and we took him to the vet the next day. She said whatever it was needed to be removed. He had surgery soon after and the mass had grown quite a bit already. It turned out NOT to be cancerous, thank God! I was so afraid it would be. Ive had three with cancer and I was so worried, but Riccio is fine and recovering quickly.

He goes to the vet on Saturday to have the stitches removed.
