it's pretty simple :) Lets say the values of ur 3 cards are x, y and z.. Now the number of cards u put on the table : 1st step, u put 3 on the table

2nd step, u put 10cards on the table minus the value of ur card X. Same for u card y and z

Step 3: U put the same number of cards on the table as the values x, y and z. So if u put that in an equation u get : 3+10-x+10-y+10-z+x+y+z as u can see this is allways 33 cards u put on the table. simple ;)

@Tamborijn Also for those who say it doesnt work make sure ur card is 34th FROM THE TOP.. most of u will put it in the other direction, look closely

@RaulBoss2898 it does work. Flip the deck so all the cards are facing you. then with your thumb, take the card that's on the top and place it on you other hand. count the cards that way. The 34th card counting that way will be your prediction.

why is it the 33rd card? It's like you put down 3 cards, and then you add 30 anyway, so you place 33 cards, and the one you'll show is the 34rd! Don't screw up on that, seriously, it's a math trick, he didn't tell it wrong... I'm gonna try it out xD

its not working for some people because when he counts the card he changes the direction of the cards, and it is the 33rd card

Sorry, but you're wrong. ıt should be the 33rd of the deck. Not 34th.

as you can see many comments saying it doesn't work. Do the math and you will see it 's 33rd card.

@holycheesegrater7 Notice that he is reversing the order as he counts? So it ends up being the 34th card from the top of the deck, not the bottom. I failed a few times and had to watch it again, but it does work.

this was the 1st trick i ever learned many years ago. i learned this same trick just using diff math count, instead of 34 a diff number is memorized. its an awesome trick i learned it at 12 im 25 now hahaaa.

To be honest, this trick is easy to find out - every time you do that, you will always pick the 34th card, even count the cards yourself!

lets say that the cards are 2, 3 and 5...

u count 8 cards down at first, but later only 2... u count 7 cards down at first, but then only 3... u count down 5 cards and then 5... no matter what it always makes 10... ace: 9 down, 1 down ... 4: 6 down, 4 down... and there is already 3 on the table... 10+10+10+3 = 33... thats why its the 34th card... get it?

I hate to say the trick is obvious, but I didn't think it was very hard to figure out. I didn't even have to review any of it. Maybe it's because I'm both an amature illusionist and an accomplished mathmatician, but math tricks are usually pretty easy. I guess it'd have been better if I didn't know it was a math trick. I might have been looking for slight rather than card counting.

actually it is an really simple math trick ... it works like this : first u got 3 cards ( a,b,c ) then you add 10- cards from the number of each card : x = 10-a => a=10-x y = 10-b => b=10-y z = 10-c => c=10-z (x,y,z are the number of cards added for each card ) then u do the sum a+b+c = 10-x + 10 -y + 10-z = 30-x-y-z now we got this number of cards : 30-x-y-z(the sum) + x+y+Z (added cards) + 3 (first cards) = 33 then the next card we put down is 34 card :) great trick but simple to solve

I saw the trick first time. What I mean is, the 34th card is now the 31st once the 3 cards are laid. Since you have to add cards to make 10 on each pile, that subtracts cards, forcing each pile to technically make 10. Then add the tops and you reach the card. For example, if one of those cards is one higher, that means you have one less card to put under it, but one more card to count at the end. Getting it? Nice trick though, I really liked it.

the problem is when your counting the card you usually put the cards on the bottom of each other you have to put them on TOP of each other

@Punkdude950 what it is, is you are probably counting the cards and remembering the 34th card from the bottom, when you count you need to remember either the 34th card from the top or you can count like you were and remember the 18th card from the bottom, then do the rest of the trick and it works

Have them pick out 2 cards.

Or the 12th and have them pick out 1.

45th, 4 and if you had more cards you just multipy 11 and the number of cards they pick out.

The 3 cards they pick + their total always =30

+The 3 cards =33

34th card is the next one.

I prefer doing the "Logical Trick", based on the same thing. That trick is more fun because you can make up a story, so it's a bigger challenge but the result gives more satisfaction. On new year i did that trick more than 10 times, and it was still entertaining, while this trick gets boring after the first time.
