Can't help but smile for this one. My niece was singing this in the car years ago, and she was singin' "ride the rooster of love". Naw,man. That's Billy Beck. Superb falsetto voice,keyboardist and composer. The Ohio Players really took off after they grabbed Billy. And "Diamond" Jimmy Williams is still an excellent drummer, also great vocal range. Very slick in the pocket.

@kja427 SlyHobbit makes some good points....we were gloriously awash with talented bands and creativity in the 70s. I remember FUNK sooooo well....it was about FUN and MOVING to the music. Nothing was quite like funk music for filling a dancefloor. But things started to change in the late 70s and disco took over...kinda squeezed funk out. It wasn't just the Ohio Players....a LOT of funk artists slid out then. If disco hadn't come along, I maintain the 80s would have had a LOT better music!!
