  • Nice stuff, who made your Bouzouki?

  • @seilidh Fylde in England - you should check them out!

  • You are cute! strange fingering, for sure that is not standard tuning

  • @chirritutiplen Haha, thanks! GDAD isn't exactly non-standard in the realm of bouzoukis, though!

  • i check out some irish Bouzouki on the web but no one sounds like yours. it's sounds so medieval....amazing performance girl!!

  • I falled a little in love!

  • @jon3jon1jopn i think i felt more then a little, like from 10.000 feet or something.

  • Excellent stuff love it.

  • I think the two tunes blend together nicely!

  • how much does one of these cost?

  • I wished I still lived in New England, I'd catch one of your shows. :c

  • Fantastic playing! Thanks for sharing.

  • i'm hearing a flanging effect in this video. is that just from the recording?

  • @justin10054 Probably - it was recorded with the computer's internal mics in a huge empty room, so the sound had a lot of space to echo and bounce around in!

  • beautiful woman

    beautiful melody

    beautiful instrument

    beautiful video =)

  • @DANCERRAVER Thank you! It is a beautiful instrument, indeed :)

  • very well.

  • Wooops... I think I just fell in love o_o

  • Excellent! So beautiful sound.

  • Like your bouzouki and your music/

  • Is the irish Bouzouki played like an 8 string Guitar? x

  • @benianbell Well, it depends on how you see it, I guess! It's more similar to a mandolin, actually. The way I think about playing guitar is pretty different from the way I think about playing bouzouki, but they have their similarities.

  • What model Fylde bouzouki are you playing?

  • Comment removed

  • What woods are your fylde longscale archtop bouzouki made from? I reckon the top is made of spruce but I can't see the sides.

It has a nice balanced sound across the strings. It does not have the harsh jangly sound of some irish bouzoukis.

  • is that one of the zouks by that French guy, Marc something? played one once, almost creamed myself. lovely.

  • @dermhurl Haha, no, it's by Fylde in England. I'm curious now about these French bouzoukis, though!

  • @lindsaystraw I found him, his name is Marc Boluda. cant seem to find a website tho. I play a Joe Foley myself. tis lovely...

  • @lindsaystraw

that would be Marc Boluda then.... powerful but expensive....

can't put a link, Youtube won't let me...

  • Marry me ;) ... and by the way help me learning ^^

  • real great playing! I wish I could play with you

  • I have a Fender cost $500 sounds great

  • I gotta say, I absolutely loved this piece, it is so simple yet beautiful :)

Gonna use video to try to play this in my octave mandolin.

    Great job :D

  • You play splendidly! Well done!

  • beautiful playing!! hope to meet for a tune someday

  • Does anyone know where i could get an irish zook for under 200$?

  • @that1stupidkid613 You might try checking Hobgoblin Music or Lark In The Morning online, or eBay. You might be able to get a decent used one under $200. Good luck!

  • very cool

  • I like all! I have only a mandolin but I think about buying at least an octave mandoline...

  • *****

  • Good stuff!!!

  • I like your music! what do I need to be your husband? xD

I hope buy one bouzouki soon.

    Good Luck!

  • Youre really good. I play my Irish Bouz in GDAD and i hope once uppon a time i can play like you....

  • @lindsaystraw thank you, i will send you some pictures when it is done. all the best finn

  • amazing playing, so delicate. and, you are totally beautiful! I am a Guitars maker and have recently started making a bouzouki for an order. in you're opinion what are the main things you look for when trying a new bouzouki.

    Thanks,

    Regards, Finn

  • @finnbaka Thank you! When I try out bouzoukis, I prefer the ones that have a nice bass to balance the treble twanginess and have good sustain, but most importantly it's got to be comfortable and smooth to play (strangely a lot of zouks I've tried aren't). Good luck crafting yours!

  • You play so well! I have only been playing Bouzouki a few months. You inspire me. Smile in your videos, you are such a pretty young lady it would match your playing!

  • @vantageman64 Thanks! This was quite a bit ago, and I think I can actually manage a facial expression other than 'intense concentration' from now on, so I'll try to smile in the next one!

  • My favorite video on youtube.

  • Lovely in every term...

  • Your playing makes me want to buy me an Irish Buzoki as well ;)

  • you played them so musically. i really felt the music. thanks for uploading this!

  • not that you've never heard this before, but you're gorgeous..now, i'm am so impressed with your playing. so many people don't know how to play a zouk, but you nailed it! what song is that, did you write it? that's not a trinity college is it? Johnson? please make more videos; people need to see talent.

  • Stunning......and the the playing is beautiful. Saw a guy playing one in a bar in Clifden Galway recently. Amazing sounding instrument.

  • Great job!

  • I just love the sound of the bouzouki. Thanks for the great video, Lindsay, and keep posting : )

  • Are you right or left handed? The picture appears flipped in different videos.

    Also, that's a nice fireplace.

  • Righty. I'm too lazy to figure out how to flip the video in iMovie or something.

  • cool lute

  • this is so lovely :)

  • That was fantastic. Just wondering, what tuning do you use for your bouzouki?

  • Thanks! GDAD

  • Oh my.. you are amazing! I am the singer/bouzouki player for a popular irish band and I must say, your instrument is way better than mine.. I am infatuated with you!

  • Very nice! :)

  • another question: who made this bouzouki and what did it costs?

  • Another excellent tune Lindsay, beautifully played.

  • wow great playing...never heard this song before...really cool....wish i had such a good bouzouki too! :-)

    greetings

  • and I just noticed you're a lefty too... I'm also left handed.

  • Hey Jim, thanks, I'm glad you like the tunes! I'm not actually left-handed - the computer camera mirrors the image and I haven't figured out how to flip it yet. As far as the sound quality goes, it sounds about as good to me as something recorded through the built-in mic, though maybe you're hearing something with the weird reverb of the room or something?

  • Lindsay, it's Jim Pettijohn from Myspace.. Awesome playing, but what's happened with the sound quality of the video?

I really love your playing. Now I want to get a signature version of the bouzouki I already have!

    Cheers

  • Another great sound! I love your music... would be perfect out by a campfire...

    Keep em coming...

    -phil
